Moments later, court was adjourned after Rea told jurors the defense had run out of witnesses for the day. On Tuesday, Morrow asked for a mistrial, saying testimony by 17-year-old Terrence Moore, who said he dealt drugs for Tribble, was irrelevant to Bias' death on June 19, 1986. Rea denied the motion.

Morrow also said testimony by former Maryland basketball coach Lefty Driesell was inconsistent with prior testimony and "intended to inflame the jury." Driesell testified that two Maryland basketball players, in the room with Bias when he died, told him Tribble supplied the drug. But David Long and Terry Long said they didn't know where the drug came from. Bonsib said Driesell's reference to Tribble was stricken from the record. Meantime, Julie Walker, the final defense witness, testified that she never saw Tribble with a safe that was stolen from her apartment by two men shortly after Bias died of a cocaine seizure. Moore testifed that Tribble told him Bias died after using co-, caine from a stash being held for' the defendant by "two girls." Walker, who grew up in the same neighborhood as Tribble, said he stored the safe at her apartment because he had no room at his house.

She said she didn't know what was in the safe or whether it contained illegal drugs or money.
