More Items of Interest Gen. Egbert B. Brown died at the age of 87 at the home of his granddaughter and her husband, J.H. McFarland, at West Plains, Mo. He had been living with them for a number of years.

He was a native of Ohio and had been engaged in mercantile pursuits on a large scale in that state in his earlier life and also in St. Louis. He served with distinction in the Union Army in the Civil War, reaching the rank of major general. Mr. and Mrs.

McFarland accompanied the old soldier's remains to Crawford County, where they were laid to rest at Cuba, Mo. where most of his life had been spent. M.T. Alman died at his home in Gassville on Monday night in March 1927. He had been in failing health for the past few years and was confined to his home the greater part of the time.

He was a splendid man and a good citizen. Wesley Clark said Tuesday the war in Iraq may have been criminal. He himself ordered an attack on the Russian Army in Kosovo, but he was disobeyed and fired.

He looked high and low for months but found no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He's been reassigned by Dick Cheney to find whoever leaked the CIA agent's name to the press.
