With the additions to practically every school in the Three Rivers school district, it appears there is an abundance of facilities available for students. The debts on additions to schools in the Three Rivers district amount to $860,500.

The first of these debts will not be paid off until 1974 and the last will not be paid until 1982. Common sense tells us we should be trying to get out of debt instead of going in further. 1 until 1:05 p.m. on April 22, you, Mr. and Mrs. Average American taxpayer, worked full time for the government. Or to put it another way, if you prefer, you toil two hours and 26 minutes of each eight-hour working day all year just to pay local, state and federal taxes.

Only then can you spend the money you earn for yourself and your family. Governmental power grows on that which it feeds, and it is your tax money. Governmental power is greater today than at any time in the history of our country because taxes are greater. A tax study shows 30.4 percent of your gross yearly income is needed for tax payments in 1963. Are we willing to vote for a bond issue that will add more than two millions to our already overburdened taxpayers, not to mention the upkeep of such a building? Why abandon some perfectly good school buildings? Why not make use of them? As long as we vote the bond issues, we will have politicians in our educational department to spend it.

Better take a long, hard look ait taxes and a special election.
