LEMARS GLOBE-POST II Established 1882 Official Plymouth County Newspaper Published Mondays and Thursdays ThunKlay, November ker (i day afternoy, anH 76 93 New Building For School The Board of Education of the Le Mars Community Schools left today to attend the convention of the Iowa Association of School Boards at the Veterans' Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines. Those attending from the Board were Norman Barker. President; Clarence Hagen, Vice-president; and Gordon Brodie, Ethel Mauer Sylvia Schneider, Directors. Su- Principal Kissinger accompanied perintendent, Archambault and the Board. During the two-day session, the Board will hear addresses concerning the responsibilities of board membership.

The principal address, "3 Dimensional Confidence," will be given Friday evening by Dr. Kenneth McFarland, the Educational Consultant for General Motors. In addition to attending meetings and hearing the addresses, the Board will view educational materials exhibited in the auditorium. The Board is currently engaged in the process of selecting an architect, and during the past week they have, in a series of meetings held at the high school, interviewed eight architectural firms. "The Board of Education feels that there will need to be a school building program carried out rather soon in order" to take care of the classroom needs of the district," stated Superintendent Archambault.

In the orocess of selecting an architect, detailed questionnaires have been sent to superintendents, board members, and contractors relevant to school buildings constructed elsewhere. "This will give the Board opportunities to find out what they like and do not like about various buildings as well as giving them, more information about the architects Before one is employed," said Superintendent Archambauit. While the Board is on the trip to Des Moines, they will visit three different school buildings in order to get further information concefritng 'and school house construction in The Board also 'plans to visit other school buildings in the near future; and after selecting an architect, they will appoint a citizens committee to help them determine what school facilities should be constructed. H. Schilmoeller Funeral services for Herman Schilmoeller, 95, prominent retired farmer of Granville, who died at his home Wednesday after a long illness, will be at 10 a.m.

Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Granville. Reverend Nicholas Beck ker will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rosary will be recited by the Knights of Columbus at 8 p.m. TThurs- day at the St.

Joseph parish hall. Mr. Schilmoeller was born October 1, 1864, at New Vienna, la. He married Miss Elizabeth Meis at New Vienna in 1899 and they came to the Granville vicinity. Mrs.

Schilmoeller died in 1916. Mr. Schilmoeller had resided on years having shared the home in recent years with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bunt, and another daughter, Miss Josephine Schilmoeller.

He belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include five sons, Julius, Albin and Alphonse, all of Granville; Milton of Remsen, and Raymond of Algona, six daughters, Mrs. Bunt and Miss Schilmoeller; Mrs. Ray Alesch and Mrs. Joe Augustine, both of Remsen; Mrs.

Elizabeth Degan of Algona, and Mrs. Leo Recker of Dyersvillc, a brother, Rev. J. H. Schilmoeller of Worthington, 68 grandchildren, and 52 great-grandchildren.

li The town of Vermillion, S. Dak. has decisively rejected a proposal to establish a municipal parking tax racket. The town council contracted with a parking tax meter company to tie up the town but under South Dakota law local citizens who objected to the parking tax were able to demand a referendum vote and the voters themselves threw the parking meter contract out the window. A Vermillion resident informs the Globe-Post that members of the city adminstration are lucky because the residents of Vermillion were able to rectify their mistake before it was too late.

Luken said death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Mandelkow had visited a doctor yesterday and was planning to go to California to spend the winter. When neighbors noticed he had not been around they called Lawrence Wilde who is a nephew and he discovered Mr. Mandelkow's body.

He was born March 25. 1877 in Le Mars and had been a lifetime resident of Plymouth county. His parents were Wilhelmina Detloff and i i a Mandelkow.
