ch TIMES FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6. 1981 7 Young Largo comes of age as an actress By CAROLYN HOPKINS Piko Timat Staff Writar movie Whose Brother; Whose Keeper, with Mickey Roon-ey, sharing the starring role with Rooney and Dennis Qua id. Mrs. Woodruff said parents are always proud when their children accomplish what they set out to do. "And we are very proud," she said.

When Largo is asked how Bhe accomplished so much at such an early age, her mother said Largo answers, "The Lord just kept opening doors and I kept walking through them." MRS. WOODRUFF said her daughter's public and private image are the same. "Largo is a sweet, warm and outgoing person." Largo and Fred Blankfein, a film and television director, were married a year ago. They maintain apartments in New York City and Los Angeles. Largo visits her parents several times a year and is expected in June.

She has many friends and relatives in the area. Mrs. Woodruffs husband is a musician and he named all three of their children for orchestral directions. Largo means slow and stately. Their oldest child is Allegro Rankin, 29, of St.

Petersburg. Her mother said her name means happy and fast. "ALLEGRO IS a poet, story writer, pianist and a sensitive and talented person," Mrs. Woodruff said. The Woodruffs' son, Lento, 21, is named for the music term "slow." "And he isn't," Mrs.

Woodruff said. He is a carpenter and offshore oil rigger. He plays flute. His mother says he is an excellent musician but feels he must labor for his livelihood and playing the flute is fun. Largo Woodruff, a woman of many talents, plays the cello.

I FURNITURE CLEARANCE NEW PORT RICHEY Largo Woodruff, actress and model, has arrived. And her parents, Wallace and Maxine Woodruff, 704 Idlewild Drive, say they are very encouraged that Largo now is considered a full-fledged actress. Mrs. Woodruff says her daughter usually plays the part of a 16- or 17-year-old girl because Bhe looks like a girl of that age although she is 24. The actress was seen recently in the television movie Word of Honor, with Karl Maiden in the starring role.

She played his daughter Amy. Local audiences will have an opportunity to see her Tuesday on CBS television WTVT, Channel 13, in The Choice, starring Susan Clark, Mitchell Ryan and Jennifer Warren. This is a two-hour movie concerning a mother and her unmarried daughter who must make a decision about her pregnancy. Miss Clark plays the part of the mother and Largo Woodruff is the daughter. Ryan is the girl's father.

Miss Warren plays a confidante of Miss Clark. MRS. WOODRUFF says years of dedication are beginning to pay off for her daughter. "Since she was 8, she has been determined to be an actress. When you have that determination, you deserve to succeed.

Everything Largo ever did was toward this goal. She learned to tap dance, ballet, sing, dance, play guitar, violin and piano. It was all directed toward being an actress," Mrs. Woodruff said. Mrs.

Woodruff said Largo was born in New Jersey and the family moved to the Panama Canal Zone when she was 2. "When Largo was 18, she said she was ready to try it on her own and I went with her to New York City and left her there to make her way," Mrs. Woodruff added. LARGO ATTENDED the Academy of Dramatic Arts and through friends there met her manager, Muriel Karl, who started her on the road to television commercials. Mrs.

Woodruff said Largo has been seen in commercials for Ruffles Potato Chips, Kraft Mayonnaise, Tic-Tac's, Root Beer, Peter Paul's Mounds and hundreds of others. "Largo says she has appeared in so many commercials that she stopped counting," her mother related. Largo appeared in an After School production called Stoned, an educational film with the message that drugs are not the cool way to go. She was a teen-ager in a horror film made at the Miami fairgrounds called Fun House. In this one, she is murdered.

Mrs. Woodruff said her daughter telephoned and told them that when they see it to remember that it is only a movie. Largo has had many bit parts in movies and television. Now she has arrived and is getting starring roles. IN MARCH, the young actress will appear in a CBS MATPAil DINETTE SETS! lamp fimm, lorgest selection in L' SPECIAL pQSC0 County.
