Won Conference Akron high's Red Raiders won the Siouxland conference basketball championship at Akron Tuesday night, defeating LeMars Gehlen, 66 to 62, in the showdown game. Both teams were in conference play when they entered the arena for a sizzling doubleheader which found Gehleh's team getting the preliminary edge, 46 to 45.

Since the league was formed for the 1954-55 season, Gehlen had won every conference test and had pocketed the championships seasons.
