Tke Eed Republican Germans of Chicsgo, at tkeir meeting, last week, passed ths following resolutions: "Jleiolred, That the House of Representatives is asked to take measures at oace to oauss ths impeachment of the President for kis many unconstitutional acts. There is more revolution and impudenoe ia tkat, than in the utterances of the negro, and is dictated by tke same spirit tkat inaugurated tke late deplorable war; and which, if indulged in, as it has been manifesting itself since the veto, may lead to another civil strife more terrible than that through which we have just passed.

It takes, however, an instructor in things divine to concentrate bitterness, and pour oat abuse in its vilest form. The Boston olergy have been trying their tongues on tbe President, and foul mouths they disclose. Ws givs a specimen from one of them, Reverend D. A. Wasso.y.

TBE IIBROULIO IN TUB FIR8T PRESBYTERIAN CHl'kCH. ELECTION OF OFFICERS sciudilous mo turbuleit scehes Extraordinary Oondact of Pro-feised Christian Women. Tbe Aid of the Police Invoked The Church Disgraced and Religion Dishonor? d. HISTORY OF THE TROIBLE Two weeks since, meeting was held in the lecture-room of the First Prsebyteriaa Church, for the purpose of electing three additional elders, the session being com posed 'of two persons only, General Wade and Doctor Thacker. The meeting was no sooner organixed than the presence of two sntsgonistio parties, each determined to carry its special candidates into office, waa developed.

The dispute ran so high that, after an hoar spent in debate and confusion, General Wade charging Doctor Thacker wit telling an untruth, and vehemently demanding instant recantation, the meeting was adjourned informally. Last 8aboatk Dr. Anderson, the pastor in charge, announced from the pulpit that another meeting in the same room, for the election of elders, would be held Monday (yesterday) afternoon at 2J o'clock. This meeting was called without the oonsentor knowledge of Dr. Thacker, one of the session.

As the appointed hour approached tbe room was filled, and it was evident that the Anderson and Wsde party had made the best of the interval between the two meetings in beating up their entire force. The Thacker and Johnson wing were taken completely by surprise, and had to contend egaijut great odJa ia Every thing wss quiet and serene; no indications of the coming rage and confusion like Bedlam was discernible, until a motion wss msde to orgsniie by calling Doe-tor Anderson to the chair. Mr. Corry objected to this nomination on the ground that the reverend gen tlemsa wss not eligible. This crested a general furor, arousing the Christian indignation of General Wade and his fellow-sisters in the Lord to such sn extent that he and they cried out, "send for the police snd remove this man who is disturbing ths peace of the meeting." A ready lackey sped to his bidding, and soon returned with a policeman.

Hissing, vituperation and abuse were hurled upon the speaker, who maintained his title to be heard by a vigorous appeal to tbe rules and canons of the Church. The policemen srrived at the scene of eombat just as Mr. Corry nominated and put to vote the name of Mr. Thacker for chairman, snd declared the vote in the negative. The oontest appeared to be for the balance of power.

The session being composed of two elders generally opposite in their views, it became aa important question to increase the number. The Thacker party nominated James Johnson, William Baird and Doctor H. Smith. C. Rogers.

m. Phillip, J. C. Culberson were the sandidates of ths Wade party. On tbe present occasion there were two questions at issue.

1. Who were entitled to vote for Elders? 2. Tbat the meeting was illegal. The Thacker party contended that persons holding settings in pews, persons baptised into the church, as well as regular communicants, were entitled to vote. The Wsde party denied that aay but eom-municantshad a right to be present, mac a lees to vote.

Tba Thacker party contended that the meeting was illegal, beoause not called by a quorum of the session as re- 3 aired by the church discipline. This was enied on tbe ground that the pastor ia chargs had a controlling voice. Dr. Thacker declared that he was present at meetings of the session on Friday and Saturday previous, and that no motion was made to call a meeting for the election of Elders and that Wsde and Anderson had, at eome date later, conspirator-like, planned the present meeting, without authority and in indecent haste. Thediscussion wss conduoted.

on the part of Mr. Corry and Thacker, with the most praiseworthy decorum, while the women, and most of the men of the Wade party, conducted themselves in a most disgraceful and unchristian manner. Their chief aim was to silence all discussion. The debate had scarcely oommenoed wkea tkey called in the police. Mr.

Corry declared tkat ke was born and reared in tbe church being baptized by Dr. Wilson. Some woman cried out, "You are none the better for that;" anotker, "Pat kim Women even cried oat, "Knock kim down; don allow kim to speak ks is a Copperhead." Tom is one of those extraordinary beings who dent all preeoBoeived ideas, rale or calculation. His sntire being is concentrated in one element, music, and nature, in depriving him of every other intellectual faculty, has abaorbed soul aad body, all of inspiration and animation, ia iufoverpowering divinity. His performance last night was evea more interesting than eilker of tke enter-taiameats formerly given ia this city. His touch is almost spiritual in its exquisite delicacy, snd hs interprets the subject with the feeling snd tenderness which Moore hss so aptly described as the "soul ef music." There is ao art; it is nature, inspiration, a beauti ul poem, untrammeled by conventional rale or science. Tom's, voioe is deeper and more fully developed than when we last heard him.

He sang "Rocked in the Spirit of the Deep" in exquisite taste, which was enhanced by kis own sccompsniment. Tbe marvelous eapacity to perform a piece off-hand, after onoe hearing it, was fully exemplified. A young lady, after the usual invitation had been extended, was conducted by her father to the stage, and there executed a rather diffioo.lt end really brilliant polka of her own composition. In the mean time, Tom cut up all sorts of fantastic capers, in the shape of dancing, bopping, jumping, and occasionally converting nimseif into an animated teetotum; bat no sooner did tbe lady leave ker seat than ke rattled off a counterpart reflection of the pice she hsd played, amid an overwhelming ehurst of applause, and to the astonishment of the assembly. To-nSght Tom will give another enter-tainment, and we strongly advise all who have not seen tke wonder to be in attendance.

Pursuant to notice, "the Democracy of Decatur County met in mass convention in the Court-house, in Greensburg, on Saturday, March 8. A permanent organisation of the Convention was effected by calling John DeArmond, Esquire, to the chair, and choosing Creighton Dandy and John L. Dobyns, Secretaries. The President, on taking the chair, stated the object of the Convention to be the election of delegates to the State Convention, to be held at Indianapolis on the 15th inst. A call of the townships waa now ordered, which showed all to be represented.

On motion, a oommittee waa appointed of one from eaoh township to report resolutions, if deemed necessary or proper; also, one similarly constituted to nominees delegates to the State Convention. The committees then retired for deliberation, and in the interim. Hoa. Oscar B. Hord, of Indianapolis, addressed the Convention in one of his sappiest forensio efforts.

His remarks were very appropriate in sentiment, convincing in argument, and the delivery was quite up to the matter. He counseled support of the President in his herculesa contest with the radicals. The Democraoy only wanted tke Union restored, snd ss the President was laboring zealously to that end, tradition, patriotism and reason demanded of every Democrat his hearty and cordial support. The Committee on Resolutions reported, through B. W.

Wilson, that inasmuch as the Convention was called only to appoint delegates to the State Convention, they deemed it unnecessary to report any formal platform, but recommended the adoption of the single resolution: Beeolved, That we hereby express our decided approval of the patriotic efforts of President Johnson to reoonoile the dissensions existing in our country, and utterly condemn the mad, furious and unstates-manliks policy of the majority of Congress. Tke resolution was adopted unanimously. On motion of Captain Bemasdeffer, it was further Jirtolved, Tbat taxation should be equal, and no property or interest should be exempt from an equal burden of the pablie due; therefore, we will neither vote for, nor make common cause with, any one who is not pledged in favor of tke taxation of Government bonds for State and National purposes in like manner as other property is taxed. How tke I Bite Statee Eiptess Robbers were ArreateeU A Su Ixuis paper purports to cIts the facte of the arrest of the United tales Express rabbere aad tha recovery of the money. It says ths robbery, it is said, was planned br one Johnson, a saloonkeeper oa Broaaway, and was participated ia by Its mea. The plan, as agreed upon, was faithfully acted oat, and after Miller waa facsad and robbed, the fire men divided the money equally among; themselves, each reeeWing (8,000, leaving 4,000 to be divided with eateidera. to be delivered by Johnson. The robbers thought themselves safe, aa their plaa had been fully carrird oat and each one carried off hia ahare of the plnader, thus avoiding the necessity of a sAfoeequent meeting.

Bat the thieves were mistakes. Ths Police Commissioners had knows of the projected robbery for two weeks before it occurred, aad bave had their detectives ea the track of Johnsoa fer all that time. Whether it was because the oae thousand dollars was insufficient to buy off the force, or because the Express Company had aeat East for five detectives te work up the job, matters not. It suffices to aay that the city police hnmcdiately went to work, and before the night one or more of the supposed robbers were arrested. Of coarse it waa necessary that the utmost seeresy should be obeerred, and instead of taking those arrested to the calaboose, they were confined ia the Iaadetl Hotel.

Before the Mondsy night suooeeding the robbery, the following peraens were ia confinement in the sixth story of the Lindell Hotel: Ed. Neumaater aad his sister-in-law, Johnson and hia wife, Joe Gilbert aad hia wife, and a maa named Lyman. These parties were all confined ia separate rooms, aad a guard of polioemea petroling the eorridoe ef the hotel ia Croat of the reosna ef these prisoners ef State, calling attention to the matter. Neumaater waa the first te snoeumb te solitary confinement, aad, upon his confession, the house of hia sister-in-law, on St. Charles street, waa searched, aad $16,000, the ahare of himself and Lyman, found concealed in the mat trasses on the bade.

Following up the olue, two tin eaas, hermetically sealed, were found ia the Lindsll lot. The eaaa contained abont $8,000 each, making a total of $28,000 said to have been raovTd. Other rumors have it that $12,000 mere waa discovered ia JehBsea'a aeaae, aad that a portioa of the money waa found upon Gilbert person, but the fact that Gilbert waa ia jail at lha time af the robbery, oa the charge. of passing counterfeit money, disproved tka rumor. I liraad By the above figures tt will be seen that the number of emigrants who arrived at this port during the last year was only exceeded in the year 149 by 20.57; in by 12,706: in 1X61 by in 152 by in 1853 by in 1854 by and by no other year among the nineteen has the emigration of lix been exceeded. This speaks well, and betokens handsome results to our labor markets, particularly to the Southern and Western States. The Imperial Fasailr of Fraaee. The Paris correspondent of the Chicago Ripublican, who was lately at the grand Imperial ball, ans at the opening of the Chambers, thus describes the Imperial family: "The feebleness of the Emperor was more remarked on this orcaeion than at the ball. He walked through the hall to the throne like an old man of eighty years, tottering at every step.

The dsy ke first strode up that aisle he bowed, and smiled, ajd saluted in every direction, but this day he did not once turn or move his head. This is certainly not because he is less complacent or less desirous of pleasing, but because he is physically inoapacitsted. The Prince Imperial is far from a healthy-looking child, but this may not prevent his living long. Tbe Empress looks scarcely less beautiful than in the dsrs of her youth, snd she bowed and smiled ss if she were making compensation to the multitude for the lack of salutations they might consider more important. The whole ceremony was slso more imposing this year than LOCAL NOTICES.
