14 TIMFS SUNDAY, OCTORFR 21 1979 rv Art from Paga 13 On Oct. 31 Head For "Other people are getting on the band wagon to preserve the past and promote the arts. Maybe we aren't out of line!" A highlight of the tour was a stopover in a tiny town of Koenignberg. "Here ia a typical western town," Honkins explained. "One drug store, one grocery, one hardware population about 7(X)." What amazed them there was that they found a Japanese pharmacist named Sam Okado, who was promoting the work of one Chief Standing Bear.

"This little town suddenly became a metropolitan area with great overflows of culture pouring out into the wasteland," Hoskins said. "We went to Chief Standing Bear's studio. He then had an exhibit at one of the colleges in Boulder." In Salida, the men visited old friend Curt Walden, who did photography during the early years of the space program. "He's an artist, entrepreneur and relic of the Old West," Hoskins commented. There were other exciting times and reunions with frinds during their adventure, but one of the best, Hoskina said, was when his wife Louise joined them.

Hill and the couple's son went their way and left the two to return home by themselves. "It was like a second honeymoon after being married 25 years!" Hoskins exclaimed. "I did it like that!" said an ecstatic Bansemer, snapping his Angers. "Isn't it great!" Bansemer't murals brighten the facades of the Spy Glaus Motel on Clearwater Beach and an office building near the Bank of Clearwater.
