5c ST. PETFRSBURG TIMFS SUNDAY, OCTOBFR 1979 ebrasDia rocks 38-10; Ohio State rolls 42-0 Unttad Praaa International MIDWEST C7 1 I 4 Aaaociatad Praia LINCOLN, Neb. Jarvis Redwine, enjoying his best game as a collegian, rushed for 206 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead No. 2 Nebraska to a 38-10 Big 8 Conference victory over Colorado Saturday. Redwine, who transferred from Oregon State, scored Nebraska's first touchdown on a 23-yard run, then stunned Colorado with a pair of scores less than three minutes apart early in the second half.

The first was a 56-yard scamper on the Becond play of the second half and the second was a 13-yarder on which Redwine reversed field after it appeared he was stopped. Redwine's running powered Nebraska to ita seventh straight victory without a loss and sent the Cornhuskera' Big 8 record to 3-0. Colorado, struggling under first-year coach Chuck Fairbanks, fell to 1-6 and 0-3. Colorado took an early 3-0 lead on Tom Field's 32-yard field goal, but other than an interception returned 69 yards for a touchdown by the Buffaloes' Bill Roe, it was all Nebraska. I.M.

Hipp and Andra Franklin each scored on short runs and Dean Sukup booted a 37-yard field goal as the Cornhuskera beat Colorado or the 12th straight time. Redwine, who carried 18 times, hit the 100-yard mark with 10 minutes left in the first half and Nebraska, playing before a 104th straight sellout crowd of 76,168, totaled 452 yards on the ground. The Nebraska defense, meanwhile, limited Colorado to 27 total yards in the second half and 144 for the game. COLUMBUS, Ohio Sophomore quarterback Art Schlichter passed to Doug Donley for two touchdowns and ran for two others, and Ric Volley raced 32 yards for another score as sixth-ranked Ohio State rolled to a 42-0 Big Ten victory over Michigan State Saturday. Schlichter, who also accounted for four touchdowns in last week's win over Wisconsin, hit Donley on a 53-yard scoring strike on Ohio State's second offensive play and found the speedy flanker with another TD pass, this one from 12 yards out, late in the first period.

A three-yard run by Schlichter capped a 74-yard drive early in the second quarter, and Volley's 32-yard dash with 2:12 left in the half gave the Buckeyes a 28-0 halftime lead. Michigan, State, which fell to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the Big Ten, had only one good scoring opportunity, when cornerback Jim Burroughs blocked a Tom Orosz punt on the Ohio State eight-yard line. The Spartans were unable to move beyond that point, with Steve Smith gaining three yards and then losing three and two Brian Clark passes falling incomplete. Ohio State, now 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference, then marched 92 yards in 15 plays, climaxed by Schlichter's six-yard touchdown run. Ohio State's final touchdown came late in the game on a 70-yard drive, with reserve quarterback Greg Castignola going over from the one.

Ohio State had 376 yards rushing, led by Volley's career-high 135, and another 154 in the air for a total offense of 530 yards, IT 1 M.sMm..-.a. AP Consecutive passes by Herrmann to Mike Harris covered 25, 16 and 17 yards, the last one for the touchdown.
