With the opening of the new Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital children and families throughout New Jersey will continue to have access to the finest medical care but now in a world-class facility designed specifically for cliildren and families. For decades, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a state-designated, specialty acute care children's hospital and a member of the National Association of Children's Hospital's and Related Institutions (NACHRI), has served the health care needs of children from New Jersey and beyond.

In partnership with UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is home to the region's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, which was found to have the lowest risk-adjusted mortality rate in a national study, and the region's only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center. The hospital's tertiary and quaternary services, such as pediatric kidney transplantation and pediatric minimally invasive surgery, offer young patients the latest medical and technological innovations. The mission of the children's hospital is to broaden and deepen its spectrum of sub-specialties, to offer interdisciplinary teams to help care for children with chronic diseases and to work with communities in New Jersey to improve the health of their children and to provide a continuum of care system that coordinates the care needs of the family and child. The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital will continue to be actively involved in public and professoinal education and in research activities that help to expand knowledge about the health of children and their families.
