WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER, 29,19M BL Y THETILL1! (ARK.)* COTJICflBR JfEWl PAGE mm NewCotton Fabrics Have Luxurious Air Lush is the word for cotton decorative fabrics this season, according to home fashion experts. This new elegant approach has turned out the most exciting collection of cottons in history, including prints, plains, and textures. Styling from "uptown" palettes has resulted in many intriguing print motifs. One collectin features the Italian Renaissance theme, while others show stylized orientals, toned-down moderns, and florals with a sophisticated, decorator look. While a luxurious touch is the big news in 'decorative fabrics, there are still many casual cottons available for women who prefer'a more free- and-easy feeling in their home decorating schemes. In the whimsical category homemakers will find such fancy-free prints as fire engines, country cupboards, old sailing charts, butterflies, and mushrooms. Denim Top Fabric Denim, shown in a wide variety of colors and patterns, again emerges j as a top decorating fabric of the' year. 7 Home decorators who like to be trailblazers will want to be sure to see new prints with pink as the dominant color. Pink is expected to be a favorite color this season. Blues, too, are new and exciting. More style surprises are being offered in "off-beat" color combinations. For example, red, orange and pink combine in an unusual print. While gold metallics are still favorites, homemakers will want to watch for new silver metallics designed to keep pace with the trend toward pewter and silver as well as the demand for gray and gray- blue finishes in woods. All in all, it's a great year in cottons for the woman who knows her home fashions.
