The last recital was given the night before the Judson was burned. That night all was fair and lovely, but in less than twenty-four hours tho loom of despair had settled upon all connected with tho Judson; but last Friday night the gloom of that id occasion had been cast aside and everything seemed bright and pros perous once more.

Within the next week the contract will be let not for rebuilding the old Judson, but for building a grand, mod ern building, second to no school structure in the South. But we are digressing. The chapel at uu early hour was filled with an elegant And appreciative audience eager to enjoy the treat that experience had taught was in store for them. The perfect order throughout the entertainment showed how iiiterestiiu the exercises were to the audience. The programme below will show the character of the exercises.

The instrumental pieces by Miss West lake, assisted by Mr. Hadley and Miss Kendall, were highly appre ciated by all lovers of music, and the whole audience was carried away with the songs of Misses Kendall and Smeallie. Miss Withers, the elocution teacher, labored under the disadvantage of the bad acoustics of the chapel, but succeeded in win ning the hearty applause of her hearers by the easy, perfect and graceful rendition of her two selec tions.
