Together they wage a campaign that climaxes in a miniature Armageddon, literally bringing down the house in Georgetown where the first bilious exorcism was carried out. THE ENTERTAINING facet of Exorcist II: The Heretic include bright colors, spooky photography and clever use of insects, (Don't see this picture if swarms of locusts bug you,) Burton's impassioned speeches rate high in sound and fury but low on rationality.

Miss Fletcher matches his hocus-pocus banalities with her own pseudo-scientific hoo-hah. Beneath the gloss of color and bluster, this movie offers absurd action based on a stupid premise. But those who waste time and money on it can always say "the Devil made me do it." The original Exorcist movie was a straightforward get-the-Devil-out-of-here type of affair. Sweet young ub-teen Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) was possessed by a demon, and a kindly priest (Max von Sydow) gave his life to save the girl from Satan' vile clutches. That was four year ago.

In Hollywood's traditional milk-'em-for-all-they're-worth style, we are now asked to believe that Regan still needs help of some sort. Don't worry about exactly why just remember that the fight of Good againBt Evil never ends. JESUIT PRIEST Father Lamont (Richard Burton) is forced by his boss to investigate Regan's exorcism. This puts him on a collision course with Dr. Gene Tusk in (Louise Fletcher), who is Regan's shrink and a non-believer in demons, Regan has changed a bit since the demon first disrupted her life.

The tormented adolescent has become a voluptuous nymph, with luscious pouty lips and a plush figure. The girl has bad dreams, though. So cleric and therapist form a semi-holy alliance of faith and fact to fight the evil force that still wants to inhabit Regan's attractive body.
