of note After-school program sought An attempt to interest local churches in sponsoring a Christian after-school program for youngsters in the St. Petersburg area will be made at a meeting at noon today in the auditorium of the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus. The meeting is co-sponsored by the Students for Christ, an on -campus group, and the Council for Exceptional Children. Ron Brock, spokesman for the student group, said the program would be aimed at children whose school day ends early in the day and who do not see their parents until 5 p.m.

Synagogue youth on Israel pilgrimage Seven teenagers from Congregation B'nai Israel, St. Petersburg, are participating this summer in a six-week pilgrimage to Israel sponsored by the United Synagogue Youth of the U.S. The group left early this month, accompanied by Rabbi Jacob Luski, who was selected as a group leader for the program which involves several hundred American young people. The pilgrimage includes work on an archeological dig, living in a kibbutz and taking part in charity projects. Those in the local delegation include Brian Greenburg, Caren Benjamin, Alan Sherman, Beth Sedacca, Ira Levin, Kevin Irwin and Steve Feineman.

Mrs. Luski and daughter Yael also accompanied the group. Christian TV to begin programing The Christian Television Corporation, a Largonon- corporation that has been seeking FCC approval for a UHF television channel in Clearwater, will begin programing on a Fort Lauderdale UHF channel on Aug. 14. D'Andrea, president, said the organization has purchased all the prime time (7 to 11 p.m.) each evening on WKID, Channel 51, and will broadcast "100 per cent Christian" television programs for viewers on the Florida Gold Coast. He added that the corporation still hopes to receive approval of its application for the Clearwater channel and does not expect to use funds donated for that project in the Fort Lauderdale operation. Gracey music Eternity concert in Pasadena Eternity, a 17-member internationally known musical group based in Hollywood, will appear in concert at 7 p.m. this Sunday in Pasadena Baptist Church, 635 64th St. S.
