WASHINGTON, HERE WE COME! Members of th. For Republican women, this Is the "Year of Conventions." Ssvsn members represented the local federated dub at the National Convention held in Washington, D.C.. Sept. 25-27. Mrs.

Ralph Covell, presideul, beaded the contingent with Douglas Moiine, first vice president, as her altei-nate. Other members flying to the nation's capitolwere; Mines. Bartling P. Anderegg, junior past president; Parmer Ickes, Dewey Manning and Edward Sullivan. In addition to business sessions, tours to points of interest were arranged and a visit lo the White House were enjoyed.

It was also possible to sit in on congressional committee meetings. Some 35 members attended the lfith Biennial Convention nf Republican women held recently at the Anaheim Convention Center. Two thmisand two hundred sixty-nine was the final tally lor registration at the conclave of 3DB clubs with a membership of more than 55 thousand. The Hon. Ronald Reagan, Governor of California, was the banquet speaker.

Mrs. Reagan was given a life membership in the federation. Highlight for the Arcadians Camino Grove FT A Board Has First Meeting Mrs. Gary Morrison, presi- dent, held the first meeting ol the Camino Crove PTA executive board hi the Youth Center. Committee reports were presented and plans for the coming year's activities were discussed.

It was announced that the carnival with its theme "California's Golden Days" will be held on Oct. 17 from 4 to 9 p.m. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Gerard Nash and Mrs. James Thornton.

The group, Arcadia Republican Club Given Diamond Award at State Event was the acceptance of the Diamond Award by president, Mrs. Ralph Covell. This is the top award bestowed by the National Federation for noteworthy achievements sponsor- ing of a youth organization, public relations activity, study of the state and U.S. 'increase in membership, special non-political community service, voter registration, and fund raising projecls.

MARY ELIZABETH CLAUSEN wedding dale set Mary Clausen to Be Married Next June Miss Mary Elizabeth Clausen and Richard William Wagner have set next June 13 as their wedding day. The engagement has been announced by Iter parents, Mr.

and Peer Clausen of South Eighth Avenue, Arcadia. Mr. Wagner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.

R. Wagner of Solana Beach. The betrothal news was disclosed to a group of 20 relatives and friends at a dinner party held at the Fallbrook home of the bride-elect's brother, Peer Clausen. Decorations for the occasion, including the engagement cake and flower arrangements, were carried out in the colors of pink and Drange. Miss Clausen is a graduate of Arcadia High School and is a sophomore at San Diego Stale College.

Her fiance is a senior at San Diego State. He was grad uated from high school in Delaware aud from Palomar College in San Diego. Goldwater To Address GOP Women Sen. Barry M. Goldwater Arizona, will he keynote speaker during the afternoon session of the CFRW, Southern Division Convention, Wednesday, Oct.

15, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Mr. 'Riddle attended Swarth-niore College in Pennsylvania and was graduated from Pomona College in California.

He was awarded a fellowship at Pittsburgh University to begin work in 1970 on a doctorate in anthropology. Girls League Helping With 'White Cane' More than til) members of the Arcadia High School Girls League are assisting the Arcadia Lions Club in the annual White Cane Days campaign.
