Louis M. Calkins of Arcadia were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception given for them Angeles, Lou's home. They were introduced by Ella's brother who shipped on the same crew with Lou. They were married in 1925 in Vancouver, Canada, and immediately following the ceremony, drove to Los They later resided in Atwater, then Glendale where their. son was born, and in 1959 they moved to Arcadia. Lou had his own automobile business in Los Angeles for 2S years. When he moved to Arcadia, be retired, only to start a new career at Santa Anita Race Track and at Hollywood Park track.

Mr. Calkins was born at I9th and Flower Street in 1900. He was raised in Altadena and attended Pasadena High School, as well as the University nl Nevada. Ella was barn in Seattle in 1906. attending Franklin High School.
