Harry Robinson, a gracious, lovcable 97-year young lady, was guest of honor last week al a dinner party given hy the Arboretum Foundation and held in the demonstration gardens of the Arboretum. Mrs. Robinson has given her Virginia Hofiinson Garden in Beverly Hills to the people of Los Angeles County Department of Arboreta and Botanic Gardens. The dinner was an expression of appreciation for the gift. The demonstration gardens are always a beautiful sight, but that evening they were particularly beautiful and dotted throughout with round tables covered with red and guld clolhs coordinated with (he color of the flowers.

There were hanging baskets of fuchsia, baskets of species of ivy and kanchloe and various flowering varieties of plant material. Festive Fare chairman chosen by AAUW Handy TURF CLUB SETTING L. He is one of 174 Brazilian sludents in Ihe U.S. (his year. The school year in Brazil starfs in February so when Luiz returns to South America next summer he will have six months (n prepare for college where he hopes to lake a course In mechanical engineering.

Luiz is enjoying his experiences in California very much but still finds some differences in life style between the two countries. Itis father owns a paint store and his mother is a government employee. The family gathers for a meal at mid-day while the store is closed. Many aunts, uncles and cousins live in the same city and they spend many Sundays wilh the whole family in water snorts, al the park or visiting in each other's homes ife will miss his two litlle sisters aged and 12, hut will enjoy visiliuR with the Chapman's Ihrec grandchildren. His senior year at Arc.iriia High School will he tilled with many interesting experiences.
