L. Hobson to Frank It. Henry and Chas-M. Hamilton, Los Angeles oil men. The strip of land, about feet long is said to be regarded by geologists as oae of choice pieces of oil property on the Rincon in that district.

The land, according to the oil men, is directly in the center of the structure upon which Ilobaon No. 1-A and No. 1-B are located, the latter two wells of which are ready to be brought in at any time. The lease. it is said, calls for drilling within CO days after completion of Hobson No.

IB- While Henry and Hamilton claim they intend to drill upon the land themselves, Mr. Hobson asserted the men are lease brokers who are to turn the lease over to some unnamed major oil company for drilling. The lease has been placed ia escrow, and unless the iease is assigned, by Henry and Hamilton to the major oil com- my within a certain time, it will re-irt to Mr. Hobson. If oil is produced from any wells on this lease, Mr.

Hobson will receive one of the biggest royalties ever paid in this vicinity, he said today. The terms of the lease call lor one-fifth royalty in everything produced froin the wells, while the usual royalty paid the Ventura district by oil com panies to property owners in from ona-sisth to one-eighth. The easli bonus paid Mr. Hobson for the iease was said to be large, but the cotidideration was not made pub lic by the parties -concerned.
