By CATHERINE MTJNDV Wanet't KdiUr "Billy Goat Acres" on West Huntington Drive was the setting last Sunday lor an open house given, by Kathy and Jim Kennedy to introduce their new "hide-away" to their friends. Billy Goat Acres may seem an odd name for such an attractive place but Kathy says lhat when they first discov- it the place was so over-frown and run down, lhat it seemed an appropriate Kennedys have painted and furnished the home and cleaned up Oie yard and it is a homelike, charming home. Especially the a a room where the windows look out on the mountains, and last Sunday was a beautiful day with the mountains clear and blue. At one time this home was owned by Harold Shepherd's father, a retired Melhodist minister, and then It was a place of beauty- aiid order. An amusing sidelight, Mv.

Shepherd said that his father always did keep a goat. Everyone brought gifts, most of them old, they will all remain in the house or in the yard. One of the gifts was an old milk can from Enid and Deco Horn, who found it in' an, antique shop. Kathy will put a plant in it. And, they were given a ceramic hilly goat and a picture of the head of a billy goat, painted by 17-year-old Laurie Gaines.

Kathy has hung this over the fireplace. A sign "Billy Goat Acres" was on the front of the house but Kathy told me, "we didn't put it there must have been one of our friends, probably Deco." More than 200 signed tlie guest book with the last ones arriving at midnight. Since the open house Ihe Kennedys have had numerous requests from friends to rent tho home. Kathy said that some people buy beach house, some mountain homes and some desert places but Jim and I just want to stay in Arcadia. They are Ihe genial owners of the Embers Ilestaurant and have another home in Arcadia.

Mrs. Kennedy is a merrther of the Women's. '-Division, Chamber of Commerce, a member and Warrta'n ofvthe Year of Arcadia Business and- Professional Women's Club, Altrusa Club and of the Arcadia Auxiliary of Ihe Methodist Hospital. Kathy dearly loves Billy Goat Acres and told me with great enthusiasm what wonderful place it will be for rummage sales, fashion shows and parlies.
