Taking with him six condemned prisoners, all of whom were armed, Tom Slaughter, famous Arkansas had man, broke ont of the death house at the penitentiary here today and in a high powered automobile, stolen from the wardeu, is speeding toward the Oklahoma border, a half hour ahead of his pursuers. Spur Track Laid, Men Work on Excavations For Sierra Refinery Men are now at work on concrete constriction at the Sierra Oil -A Raining company's site at Leesdale on the state highway between Oxnard and Cimarillo.
