Newbern. a member of the Florida Citrus Commission, said yesterday the commission and citrus shippers in Florida will meet with Georgia buyers in efforts to get Georgia's citrus tax revoked. Newbern, a major grove owner and large shipper to Georgia, said the commission previously planned to make a small shipment of fruit to Atlanta or some other Georgia city as the first move in a court test of the legality of the recently imposed tax.
