Three Applicants Qualify For Bethalto Post Office Job BETHALTO -Three of the applicants for the office of postmaster here have received official notification of their status on the register of eligibility, tablished through the taking of civil service examination. First on the list of eligibles is Bill Dettmers, now rural mail carrier, 8 veteran. Don Harris, now a postal employe and also a veteran, is second on the list, and Mrs. Nina Henkhaus, former acting postmaster who was displaced by the temporary appointment of Elmer Schoeneweis AS acting postmaster, is third.

Under civil service regulations, Harris and Dettmers, because they are erans, will have preference over Mrs. Henkhaus, Appointment of one of the three as postmaster should come through a recommendation by Senator Everett Dirksen to the President. YMCA Drive Set Monday Ai Bethalto BETHALTO The Civic Memorial YMCA membership drive will take place Monday from 5 to 8 p. according to Lynn Ciaussen, chairman of the committte in charge, Claussen said that the drive is for cash contributions to the YMCA program and that all the money collected will be used locally, principally to support the summer program, which will be directed by Don Simpson, Unit 8 teacher. Last summer's budget ran between $1.800 and $2,000, Claussen and total participation the program totalled over 500 young people from Cottage Hills and Bethalto. While this year's budget will have a starter of 5550 from the Alton YMCA, the major portion of the money for operating the program must come from local sources, he said. While an contribution will be welcomed, the membership chair.
