Be it further resolved and ordered that the full faith, credit and resources of the Brazil Consolidated School District of Tallahatchie County Mississippi are hereby Irrevocably pledged for the prompt payment of the principal and interest of the aforesaid bonds as the same respectively matures; and it is hereby ordered that a special tax sufficient in amount to pay principal and interest at maturity shall be levied and collected each year during the life of said bonds on all taxable property both real and personal in the said Brazil Con solidated School District of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi; which tax when collected shall be placed in a special fund and used solely for the purpose of paying the principal and interest on the said bonds.

Ill the Matter of the Tax Levy of Knid Cons. School District.

This day came on to be heard the matter of the tax levy of Knid Cons. School District and it appearing to the Board that there was filed with the Clerk of this Board on July 2nd 1924 and this day received by this Board a petition containing the signatures of more than a majority of the qualified electors of the Knid Consolidated School District praying that this Board levy a tax of ten and one fourth mills on the dollar on all taxable property in said Consolidated School District for the purpose of increasing the maintenance of said school (supplementing teachers salaries-extending the school term) and for the incidental expenses of said School (including fuel transportation etc.) and for the purpose of lengthening the term of said school and the Board having ex amined said petition and having heard proof thereon and being convinced that the said petition contains the signa tures of more than a majority of the qualified electors of said consolidated school district residing therein, and be ing convinced that the levying of said tax is for the best interest and welfare of said district; The intention of the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County Mississippi to make such levy of ten and one-fourth mills on the dol lar on the taxable property of said Enid Consolidated School District is hereby declared and this declaration of such intention is this day spread on the minutes of this Board and said declaration being so made is as binding as if an order making such tax levy had already-been passed at the regular time for making all tax levies and is entered as the order making declaration of intention to levy said tax as is provided by the Laws of Mississippi 1924 (Chapter 20-Sec. 171-of what is commonly known as the School This July 7, 1924. Sale of Lands for Taxes: It appearing that the following land in First District of Tallahatchie County Mississippi, to-wit: Lots 1-2-3 Block 1 SK Ward of Town Town of Charleston assessed to P. Alexander and SW EH of Sec.

Which was and is liable for sale for taxes 1923, and which should have been sold at the regular June 1924 Tax Sale, was by clerical error omitted from said sale and was not then sold; It is there fore ordered that the Tax Collector shall advertise said lands and shall sell same for said taxes in the manner as provid ed by law, said sale to be made on 1st Monday of August 1924 at the Courthouse at Charleston, in the manner and upon such notice as is provided by law. Advertisements: The Clerk is directed to adverti.se that at its August Meeting at Charleston this Board will receive bids and let the contract for the following works to-wit: For furnishing 1 car Armco culverts to Tippo Swan Lake Road District, same to be delivered at Philipp, Miss.

6 per cent Bonds: Whereas, at its regular June 1924 meeting this Board did order an election to be held in the Brazil Consolidated School District on June 28th 1924 on the question of the issuance of the bonds of the said District in the sum of and Whereas, the Election Commissioners of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi have reported to this Board that the said election was held in all respects as required by law after due notice of the same had been given and that the same resulted in favor of the issuance of said bonds by a majority of 17 votes; and Whereas, the Board has canvassed the returns of the said election and the report of the said Election Commissioners and has satisfied itself that the said election was conducted in all respects as required by law and that the same resulted in favor of the issuance of said bonds by a vote of 17 votes in favor of the bond issue and none votes 'Whcwis, it itppont-H that nil ninttws and things required by law to be hu and done relative to the issuance nyid bonds l.ave been had and done In due form, time and manner as required by law and that it la now the duly of Board to provide for the issuance and sale of said bonds and to prescrilu the form, maturities and other detail of same; therefore Be is Resolved and Ordeiod by the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi that tho election held on June 2Mh 1921 within the Bra ssil Consolidated School District of said County and State on the quistion of the issuance of Fifteen Thousand Dol lars (Bi.O'in.oii) of bonds of the said Dis trict, he and the same Is hereby declared and adjudged to have been held In all respects as required by law and to have resulted In favor of the issuance of the said bonds. Be it further resolved and or dered by the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi that the bonds of the Brazil Con soliduted School District of Tallah atchie County, Mississippi shall be is sued in the total sum of Fifteen Thou-and Dollars said bonds shall be dated July 1st 1924, shall be in denominations of Five Hundred Dollars each shall be numbered serially from one to thirty both Inclusive; shall bear interest at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable semiannually on July 1st and January 1st of each year both principal and interest to be payable at the Bank of Commerce Trust Com pany of Memphis Tennessee, and said bonds shall mature in numerical order as follows: $500.00 on July 1st in each of the years 1925 to 1929 both inclusive; $1000.00 on July 1st In each of the years 1930 to 1934, both inclusive and $1500.00 on July 1st in each of the years 1935 to 1939 both inculsive; without op tion of prior payment. Be it further ordered, that said bonds shall be lithographed or printed in two or more colors to prevent counterfeiting shall be signed by the President of the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County and countersigned by the Clerk of said Board, and the coupons attached to said bonds, and evidencing the inter est thereon shall bear the lithographed facsimile signatures of said officials and the seal of Tallahatchie County shall impressed upon each of said bonds. Said bonds shall be registered as issued, in abook kept for that purpose by the Clerk of this Board and shall be payable to Bearer and said bonds and coupons and the registration certificates endorsed thereon, shall be in substantially the following form: I'MTED STATES OF AMERIA Xo. of Mississippi, County of Tallahatchie $500.00 Brazil Consolidated School District 6 per cent Bond.

Know All Men By These Presents, That the Brazil Consolidated School District in the County of Tallahatchie and State of Mississippi, by the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County its governing authority, acknowledge itself to owe for value received hereby promises to pay to Bearer on the 1st day of July, A. D. 19 the sum of ($500.00) in lawful money of the United States of America, with interest from date at the rate of six per centum per annum, payable semi-annually on the first days of January and July of each year as evidenced by and upon the presentation and surrender of the interest coupons hereto attached as they severally become due. Both principal and interest of this bond are payable at the Hanover National Bank, New York, N. Y.

and for the prompt payment of this bond, both principal and interest at maturity the full faith, credit and resources of the Brazil Consolidated School District in the said County of Tallahatchie and State of Mississippi are hereby irrevocably pledged. This Bond is one of a series of Thirty Bonds of like date and tenor (except aa to maturity) numbered from 1 to 30, both inclusive, aggregating the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars (15,000.00) and is issued for the purpose of erecting, repairing and equipping school buildings and teachers homes for the said district and purchasing land upon which to erect such buildings and teachers homes and is issued under and pursuant to the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Mississippi including among others Chapter 207, Laws of Mississippi 1920 and pursuant to resolutions and orders of the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi heretofore duly adopted; and after having been authorized by a majority of the qualified electors of said at an election called and held for that purpose in said District on the 25th day of June 1924. It is hereby certified and recited that all acts, conditions and things required by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Mississippi to be done, precedent to and in the issuance of this bond, have been properly done, happened and been performed in regular and due form and time required by law, and that the total indebtedness of the Brazil Con solidated School District, including this bond does not exceed any Constitution or Statutory limitation; and that this bond is payable out of the taxes levied upon all the real and personal property in said school district. R. Allison. President. The Board met pursuant to adjournment of yesterday, on the the nth day of July 1U24: officers and members present and presiding as (if yesterday. The Board proceeded to equalize the assessment roll for the first district.

Beat Four and Five Koad District: It appearing to the Board that the letting of the contract for the repairs and the maintenance work to be done on the asphalt highway in Beats Four and five has been duly advertised and that the bid of W. A. Morrison before the Board, is the lowest and best bid. It is therefore ordered and adjudged that the said proposal of the said W. A.

Morrison be and the same is hereby accepted and it is further ordered and adjudged that the President of this Board be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the said work with the said W. A. Morrison in accordance with the plans and specifications on file and the said proposal, subject to the sale of the bonds of this district. Memphis Stone Co. Bid: We submit herewith the proposal of the Memphis Stone and Gravel Company to furnish gravel for the construction of the road to be improved in said district.

We recommend that the said proposal be accepted. Witness our signatures this the 7th day of July 1924. M. P. Sturdivant.

Cay, Commissioners. filendora Good Road District: It appearing to the Board that the letting of the contract to furnish gravel necessary for the construction of the good road in filendora Good Road District has been duly advertised and that the proposal of the Memphis Stone and Gravel Company is before the Board is the best bid. It is therefore ordered and adjudged that the President of this Board be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the said Memphis Stone and Gravel Company for said gravel in accordance with the plans and specifications on file and in accordance with the said proposal, subject to the sale of the bonds of said district.

To The Honorable Board of Supervisors Tallahatchie County Mississippi: We the commissioners of the Glen-dora Good Road District submit herewith the proposal of W. A. Morrison to construct the gravel road in said district. We recommend that this proposal be accepted. Witness our signatures this the 7th day of July 1924." M.

A. Morrison is the best hid. It is therefore ordered and adjudged that the said bid be accepted and the President of this Board is authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the said W. A. Morrison in accordance with the plans and specifications on file and the said bid of the said W.

School District of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi and it appearing to the Board that there has been filed with the Clerk of this Board on July 2nd, 1924 and this day received by this Board a petition containing the signatures of more than a majority of the qualified electors residing in Philipp Cons. School District praying that this Board levy a tax of five mills on the dollar on the property of said Consolidated School School District for the purpose of pay- for fuel, erecting and repairing school buildings, supplementing salaries of school teachers, maintaining said school and for incidental expenses of the said school district, and the Board having examined said petition and being convinced that it contains the signatures of more than a majority of the qualified electors of said consolidated school district residing therein, and be- Kroiu Last l'Ia! Tippo Swan Lake Koad Oist. of Supervisors District No. 4 of Tallahatchie County Mississippi: It appearing to the Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County Mississippi that the attorneys to Mhom the record of the Bond issue of said road district was submitted have requested that at this meeting of the Board of Supervisors pass an order levying a tax for the payment of the principal and interest of said bonds and it also appearing that the statute makes it mandatory upon the Board to levy a tax each year to pay the principal of said bonds as same become due and the interest thereon as it accrued; It is therefore ordered and adjudged that there be and there will be each year as the time fixed by the statutes an annual tax levied sufficient to make said payments and that there is a lien fixed on all the taxable property of said district as pro-Tided by the Statute to secure the payment of the said indebtedness as the same comes due.
