formerly of 420 George was held at 9 a.m. today from the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, and at 9:30 a.m. when a requiem mass was celebrated in the N.J. State Hospital Chapel, Freehold. The Rev.

Thomas McNally officiated. Interment was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Mr. Martin, a retired railroad employe, died Monday at the state hospital where he had been a patient three years.

Before moving to Griggstown 16 years ago, she had lived in Brooklyn 44 years and devoted many years of active service to the Norwegian Seaman's Church, where her late husband had been employed. She was a member of the Griggstown Reformed Church Ladies Guild and Choral Group, and belonged to the Norseville Ladies Aid.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Astrid Mina of Griggstown; a sister, Mrs. Marie Butler of Roslyn Heights, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the Griggstown Reformed Church will be conducted by the pastor, the Rev.

C. Lee Crandall, and the Rev. L. T. Gulerandsen of St.

When he retired he was head of a eight man force, and a squad of 20 special police. Born in Franklin Park, he had lived in thjs borough since 1907. An organizer and life member of the Metuchen Safety Squad he also belonged to the International, New Jersey, and Middlesex County Police Chiefs Associations; Retired Police Chiefs Association; Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Local 60; Mt Zion Lodge 135, the Craftsman's Club; and Metuchen Lodge 1914, BPOE. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Smith; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Schaffhau en of this borough, Mrs.

Robert Bogart of Northville, Mic; and Mrs. Francis Schaefer of Trum-ansburg, N. 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will take place Monday at 10 a. m.

at the Runyon Mortuary, 568 Middlesex Ave. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. METUCHEN Willard B. Hutchinson of 32 Plainfield chief of police for 28 years before retiring in 1941, died suddenly yesterday in Perth Amboy General Hospital. He was 77.

Mr. Hutchinson was appointed a patrolman Jan. 1, 1912, when Chief John J. Flaherty was the only other member of the local police department. In 1913 he succeeded Flaherty New Ambulance Due in December JAMESBURG A sparkling new ambulance will be rolling into this borough sometime in December.

The Jamesburg First Aid Squad, acting on the recommen-d at ions of the Ambulance Committee headed Rodney Marlow, on Tuesday approved the ur as of a 1965 ambulance from Clark Miller Motor Sales of Butler. The order was sent in Wednesday. The ambulance will consist of a "Miller Meteor" body on a Cadillac chassis. List price for the rig is $16,735, but the squad is trading in its 1959 Cadillac, which has logged 55,000 miles. Marlow said that after 1963 budget is prepared, the squad will know how much money it has for a down payment.

The remainder, he said, will be "obtained by financing, probably at a local bank." He said the December delivery is due to the fact that ambulance bodies are custom made. The squad has completed its fund drive, "and we are pleased with the results," Marlow reported, "but of course, it's not enough to pay for an ambulance. FORECAST Showers tonight, cloudy tomorrow. Shotgun Wound Proves Fatal FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP -Illness is being cited as the reason for the suicide yesterday morning of 49-year-old Joseph G. Iko, at his home, 4 Belmar St.

Police Lt. James Brown, who investigated, said that Iko was discovered in his bed dead of a shotgun wound about 8:30 a.m. yesterday when his wife returned home after taking a son to school. Brown said that Iko had been ill. A welder for the -Irvington Steel and Iron Works, New Brunswick, Iko was born in New Brunswick and was the son of Mr.

and Mrs. Kalman Iko, who survive. Also surviving are his wife, the former Margaret A. Horvath; three children, Eugene of New Brunswick, William and 3-month-old Karen at home; and a brother, Kalman in California. Funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m.

at the Gowen Funeral Home, 233 Somerset New Brunswick, will be followed by interment in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. and Mrs. David Price. He was a retired paper maker, having been employed by the Inland Paper and Board Versailles, Conn. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Barbara Selzer of North Brunswick, and a brother, George of Hackensack, N.J.

RUSSELL UHL Funeral services for Russell Uhl, 66, of 182 Townsend who died Wednesday in St. Peter's General Hospital, have been set for tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Harding Funeral Home, 239 Livingston Ave. The Rev. Mr. Uhl, husband of the former Elizabeth Dickinson, was born in Browntown, son of the late John and Barbara Koch Uhl, and lived in Old Bridge before moving to this city 37 years ago. Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Alice J. at home; a brother, Edward of St. Petersburg, and two sisters, Mrs.

George Martin of Old Bridge and Mrs. Joseph Krhoun of St. Petersburg. The Gleason Funeral Home, 44 Throop is in charge of arrangements. JOHN GRYZ SAYREVILLE John Gryz of 11 Embroidery died suddenly last night in St.

Peter's General Hospital, New Brunswick. A native of Poland, he lived here many years, and retired in February after 21 years as an employe in the laboratory of the Hercules Powder Par-lin. A communicant of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, he was a member of its Holy Name Society and Men's Choir.

Surviving are his wife, the former Caroline Karbowski; two daughters, Mrs. Catheryn Krzyz-anowski of this borough and Mrs. Florence Razzano of Hia-leah, Fla. two sons, Frank and John of this place; seven grandchildren; a brother and three sisters in Poland. The funeral will take place Monday at 8:30 a.m.

NICHOLSON Alfred C. Nicholson of 286 Redmond died suddenly Wednesday at Middlesex General Hospital. He was stricken with an apparent heart attack at his home, rushed to the hospital, and died shortly after admittance. Mr. Nicholson, 56, was born in Norway, son of Anton Nicholson of the Redmond Street address and the late Albertina Posska Nicholson.

A floor contractor, he had lived in this city since 1920, and was a member of the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club. Also surviving are three brothers, Magnar, Elmer and Lars, all of this city; and six sisters, Mrs. Nels Olufsen and Mrs. Gustav Rooberg, both of Edison, Mrs. John Aune of Norway, Mrs.

Albert Collier Sr. of Franklin Township, Mrs. William Ryan and Mrs. George Wilcox, both of this city. The Rev.
