ATTACKED AS FAULTY One sharp exchange came with an attack on the ordinance as a "faulty pattern" which should be disregarded, launched by Paul Vonn. C. A. Peterson, public works di rector, got up and charged Vonn with turning down an invitation to serve on the Advisory Com muiee. ana wiui stating Deiore a recording machine at another ses sion that all his objections to the draft had been met Chairman Wick warned the au dience the County is 10 years too late Ln planning and zoning, and that as a result huge right of way costs are incurred every time a road is widened, and that traffic death traps are created.

OFFERED MODIFICATIONS Peterson offered some modifica tions already noted on the docu ment to meet objections made last month. 1 In one showdown, demanded by Wick, no one present would admit taking a negative attitude. He asked all who were not willing to help solve the problem to hold up their hands. Pete Seward of Clearwater made the initial anti-ordinance foray, classing it as "state-ism" and ap plying other epithets. One commissioner answered him that it was less restrictive than restrictions in Harbor Oaks where Seward lives.

Some soft spoken support from the crowd of 200, in favor of plan ning and zoning was manifest in the audience for the first time. After an agenda supposed to cov er nine ordinance sections bogged down in argument on paragraph of the first section, the Commissioners who were personally on the receiving end last night in stead of the advisory committee voted to call another meeting in about four weeks. At that time it will receive of ficially designated delegates from special-interest and neighborhood groups to screen ordinance pro visions in a smaller gathering acting as an enlarged advisory committee. A counter suggestion by a cattle business, representative.

Robert Boyd, that the document be aban doned for a start from scratch, was repelled by Chairman Wick, who said it would set the needed controls back four years. As many spoke, the commission ers received varied suggestions that only "rural" residents be permitted to vote on it in a referendum, that only freeholders be Mrs. Frank Jordan, Here Seven Years Mrs. Laura Jordan, wife of Frank Jordan, died early yester day morning in a local hospital.
