NOVEMBER II, POP WARNER CHAMPIONSHIP 1 19M Rucci Passes Carteret to 4413 Victory Over Sayreville Eleven ville marched to a first down on the Carteret 25-yard stripe only to have Mike Kasklw intercept a Leprechaun pass on the 20. Sayreville'i Jeff Maliszewski recovered a fumble on the Carteret 28 on the first play of the final period but Sayreville immediately fumbled the ball away and Carteret regained possession on its 20. The Sportsmen controlled the ball until they reached paydirt eight plays later.

Rucci completed five of seven passes for 70 yards including the TD flip of 37 to Gentry and ran ten on a keeper play. 79 yards to paydirt for the third. Royals Nip Bullets CINCINNATI AP Oscar Robertson sank a field goal with nine seconds left and ended with 40 points as the Cincinnati Royals edged the Baltimore Bullets 125-123 last night to snap a three-game losing streak in the National Basketball Association. Panzarella 26-, run (run failedi CARTERET Quarterback Nick Rucci was a one-man gang here yesterday when Carteret defeated Sayreville 44-13 and thereby annexed the championship of the. Central Jersey Pop Warner Football Federation before 2.000 fans at Overholt Stadium: years old and 101 pounds soaking wet, fired touchdown passes of 47, 5, 30 and 37 yards in that order and scored himself on a 38-yard run as the Sportsmen, winners of the northern division crown, exploded for 38 first-half points en route to their eighth consecutive victory. Central division winner Sayreville was limited to two touchdowns and Nick Cegerenko figured in both. A 59-yard pass-run play from Tom Roberts to Cegerenko gave Sayreville a second period touchdown and an 8-yard Cegerenko to Bruce Elacqua aerial produced a Leprechaun six-pointer in the final stanza.

Ed Wilgucki, who accounted for 13 points and finished the season with 162 points on 28 touchdowns and six conversions, put Carteret on the scoreboard on the game's second play from scrimmage with a 53-yard end sweep. Cegerenko took the ensuing kickoff on his 17-yard line and went the remaining 83 to an apparent touchdown but his fine effort was wasted when Sayreville was penalized to its 39 for clipping. Rucci passed 47 yards to John Ward for the second TD of the opening period and Gentry raced Jamesburg, Harrison Tie; Share State Title JAMESBURG The Jamesburg High School soccer team and Harrison played to a 1-1 tie Saturday on the Rider College Field in Lawrenceville and the two schools were named State Group I soccer co-champions. Harrison scored first with four minutes left in the first quarter on a goal by Ed Ciloscyck from eight yards out on a pass from Bob Thompson. Jamesburg came back in the second quarter and at the 11-minute mark tied the score on a goal by Willie Kendrick on a pass from Rich Matteo.

Matteo took the ball into the right corner, dribbled past the Harrison halfback and crossed the ball to Kendrick, who headed the "ball in from 10 yards out. Harrison wound up its season with a 12-1-4 record and Jamesburg, unbeaten, won 12 and tied four. This was the second successive undefeated season for the Indians in regular season play and the first in the school's history to go unbeaten during the season and in tournament play as well. It was the state soccer championship won by Jamesburg High School. Indian teams coached by Dick Matteo also won in 1961, 1962 and 1963.
