Show- alter. 85, were held Saturday after noon from the Weyers Cave Methodist church, with her pastor, the Rev. L. O. Wright, officiating and assisted by the Rev.

D. McNeer. Pallbearers were A. R. Glover, H.

O. Den niton; H. Wrenn, J. C. Wrenn, LeRoy Wrenn and Earl Die hi.

Burial was in the Weyers Cave cemetery. The love and es teem in which "Aunt Bee tie" was held was shown by the large crowd of relatives and friends attending the funeral. She was born on March 10, 1858, at the old Isaac Showalter homestead on North River and spent her entire life in the North River-Wey- ers Cave section. She died of heart ailment on March 2. 1944, lacking only 18 days of attaining her 85th birthday.

She had been a member of the Falrview Methodist church since early girlhood and her love for her Master was reflected in her life, be ing a kind neighbor and friend, al ways ready to help the needy and sick. Her memory was remarkable, and she could relate many interesting incidents of life in the Civil War period. She was united in marriage to Charles L. Showalter on December 21, 1879, and to this union was born one child. Mrs.

Wednesday. Born in Rockbridge county March 9, 1902, she was a daughter of the late L. B. Greene of Rockbridge and Mary B. Iiliey now residing at Mid vale.

Mrs. Greene was a member of the Marvin Methodist church at Cornwall. Funeral will be held from her late residence today (Friday) at 4 p. m. with the Rev.

L. O. Mortzfeldt officiating. Besides her husband and mother, both of Vesuvius Route 1, she is survived by a brother, H. G.

Greene of Fairfield and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Carr of Waynesboro. The Howard II. Patterson Sale which was advertised for March 15 has been postponed until further notice. He holds the Distinguished Flying cross and the Air medal with three Oak-Leaf clusters. Lieutenant Obenschaln's first combat mission vas an attack on the Junkers aircraft factory and repair depot at Rhelms-Champagne, and he flew the long run to Gdynia, when the Eighth AAF bombed German shipping and docks In that Polish seaport. He took part in the bombing of the ball bearing factories at Schweinfurt.

He was 91 years old, and he had been in failing health for the past five 'years. His death came as a great shock to his family and friends as he had been in his usual health until he became suddenly ill Tuesday after noon. Mr. Hite is survived by six children, four sons, and two daugh ters, H. c.

Hlte, Webster Springs, W. Va, W. Mercer, B. Frank Hite, Waynesboro; Mrs. A.

L. Rudd, Washington, D. C.J Miss Nellie Hlte at home, one brother, Scott Hlte, Roland Park, Baltimore, twenty-one grand children and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Hite was a member of the Methodist church since early manhood.

He was held in highest es teem by all who knew him. Mrs. Hite preceded him in death one year ago. Funeral servica will be held at his home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial taking place at Calvary church cemetery, Stuarts Drart. The remains will be brought to the home at nine o'clock Sunday morning.
