ARKANSAS MENTIONED FOR U.S. COMMERC POSITION HURST IS DEFENDANT IN GARLAND SUITS Hot Springs, Dec. 1 civil suits charging that County Judge Q. Byrum Hurst failed to comply with the law in disposing of county property have been filed in Garland Chancery court. The suits allege that Hurst illegally disposed of $7,950 in road machinery and other county owned property during his term of office.

Garner charges that Judge Hurst failed to have value of the property and equipment appraised by the county assessor and did not publish a public notice of sale.
