J. WELP Your Jeweler JASPER, INDIANA Portersville While Mrs. Bonnie Hoffman, and daughter, Billie, and Aunt Maude Roth and Mrs. Esther Conolty were shopping at Washington Friday Mrs. Hoffman received word that her uncle, George Krodel, was very ill at the home of his niece near Washington.

Jennings Hoffman went to Evansville Friday to spend the week end with his daughter and son-in-law, and to bring back Mrs. Hoffman who had spent the week with them. Quite a number of persons from here attended the funeral services for John Weisman in St. Church in Boone Sunday afternoon. Henry Harker, Boone township trustee, spent several days last week in our village and vicinity finishing up the work of assessment.

William Hoffman, driver of the Burns City bus and the Alfordsville school bus, had to detour by way of Haysville again in recent days due to the high water. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Runyan of Indianapolis spent the week end with his grandmother, Mrs. Rose Weber, and on Sunday, accompanied by Mrs.
