Van Buren county officials found that a 14-year-old who has completed the sixth grade may be excused from classes if he can show need for a job. Carl will be 14 next Tuesday aaid will be able to obtain state working papers ihen.

Since he lost nis job, Carl and his family have been living with eight in-laws in a tarpaper shack near the city dump. During the past weeks the youth has cleared brush along county roads, but the money he earned has not been sufficient for living purposes or to pay the doctor and hospital bills for the baby. His search for a real job came out when he told his story over a Kalamazoo, radio station. Several agencies have interested themselves in his plight and it is hoped that ltgular employment can be found for him. Fazola, a clarinetist known as one of the greatest of second generation New Orleans jazz men, died yesterday at his New Orleans home as the result of a heart attack. He was 36.
