The bill would abolish the Atomic Energy Commission and transfer its regulatory functions to a new Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Before the Senate acted by voice vote, Sen. Charles Percy, announced that President Ford intends to sign the bill into law next week. The House approved it Wednesday by a vote of 372 to 1.
