Allen, 51. ot Hampton, drowned as a result of an auto accident Sunday at 1:40 p.m about 1 mile north ot the County line on Highway 167 According to Trooper Travis Nash of the Arkansas State Police who investigated the crash along with Sheriff Doyle Duncan and Deputy Sheritf Gene Duncan of the Calhoun County Allen was driving the car north on S. 167 He apparently lost control, and the car plunged down a steep embankment and into backwater of the Ouachita River where Allen Drowned The body was recovered by units of the Union County Civil Defense Rescue team at about 3 45 p.m. Allen was born August 26.1915 in Ouachita County, the son of and Belle McWilliams Allen He was a truckdriver for the Jet Asphalt Co.
