The only public objection by employers to date was from the Caracas Chamber of Industry, which asserts that the classification of firms bv workers' risk has been over-simplified and that the large variety of services tor ployes will make the cost of the plan prohibitive unless the government bears more of the finan- cial burden. The Chamber, however, admits that Social Security is indispens- able, and has offered its cooperation.

The obligatory Social Security system in Venezuela has two types of benefits -one for ordinary sickness and maternity, and the other for sicknesses and accidents while 1 at work.
