Robert Dewar of Bark River, is recovering rapidly in an English hospital from wounds suffered while fighting in France Sept. 7. He reports he is now able to go on leaves, and re- I cently went to London where he had his picture taken. Sgt. Dewar received serious injuries to his legs and arms when Germans threw hand grenades in a house where he and three other American soldiers were spending the night.

His three comrades were killed, but he managed to crawl to safety behind the American lines. He joined the army Feb. 20, 194 4 and went overseas Julv 19. John Malloy, who has been transferred from Iceland to England, has just received the rating of Staff Sergeant, his mother, Mrs. Charles Malloy of South Fourteenth street, has been advised. He also writes that he gratefully acknowledges receipt of a gift package from the Knights of Columbus. Another son of Mrs.
