DAILY PRESS LOCAL STUDENT AWARD WINNER Lillian Cornell's Essay Second In State Contest Daniel Stacy. student of St, Joseph school in this city, was winner of an emy contest for eighth graders conducted recently by the magatine Field and Street, to Information contained In the current Issue, which Is the last of the school year. The magatine Is published by the state police and department of conserratlon and edited by Ralph Sheehan and Robert McLaughlin, upper peninsula educational advisors of the state police and conservation department respectively. Winners In the various classes of the contest, which was built on conservation work, were as follows: Fourth grade: first, Chsrles Mannerlng, Cooks; second, Betty Jane Saaranen, Alston; third, Mary Jurasln, St. Sebastian of Bessemer.

Fifth grade: Theresa Nan tell, St. Sebastian of Bessemer; second. Peter VanLaanen, Washington of Iron Mountain; Betty Teterson, FI merest of Daggett. Sixth grade: Betty Chernetskl, Washington of Frederic McGowan. Eckerman; John Helnt, Newberry.
