S. J. Sebelius, Dean of Augustana Seminary at Rock land, will visit Escanaba Sunafternoon and will speak at daservice in the Bethany Lutheran church, Dr. C. Albert Lund, pastor, arranged for 4 o'clock.

This service will be conducted in the English language. Dr. Sebelius is one of the leading educators within the Augustana Synod. He i is a ponent of truly "fundamental Christianity. As such he devotes whatever spare time he can find in his arduous work as teacher and dean to evangelistic work within his church.

Dr. Sebelius will be in charge of morning and evening services in the First Lutheran church at Gladstone Sunday, in the absence of the pastor of church, who is at present vacationing in Florida during several weeks. Daughter Born to Eugene McDonalds An announcement of interest in Escanaba is that of the birth of. a daughter, the first child in the family, to Commander and Mrs. Eugene McDonald.

Jerry Murray of Spalding, became the bride of Napoleon Mottard, also of Spalding, at a ceremony performed at eight o'clock on Tuesday morning at St. Xavier's church in Spalding. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schaul was the officiating clergyman.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Gagne, sister and brother-in-law of the bride, were the attedants. For the ceremony the bride was beautifully attired floor gown of wine colored transparent velvet, a close fitting hat and veil of the same shade and silver slippers. She carried an arm bouquet of mixed flowers.

Mrs. Gagne, the bridesmaid, wore a long blue taffeta dress with matching accessories. Following the wedding, breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents at Spalding. A wedding dinner and supper were served at the home of the groom's brother, Joseph Mottard, at Nadeau and in the evening a wedding dance was held at Perry's Day-nite club. Tuesday night the Lions club appointed John P. Collins chairman of a committee to work out a program. Mr. Colling was in charge of the Christmas observance actvities this year, and was unanimously chosen chairman of the winter sports events. The city council last September authorized John Torreano, city engineer, to go to Grayling to inspect that town's winter setup, which 1s outstanding in the state.

He gave a report on his trip at the October meeting, but it was decided that it was too late in the year to begin grading for construction of permanent toboggan and bob-sled slides.
