These leaders will hare charge of the drive In their respective com munition. Contributors to the Red Cross sre reminded that not more than fifty cents of any contribution, regardless of Its slse, goes to the national organisation.

85. widow of Chester Morton, died at noon Wednesday at her home, 1711 Second avenue north, following a year's illness. She was born in Schaffer. August 30, 1873. and was a resident of Wells for a number of years.

She had lived in Escanaba for the past 3f. years. Surviving are one son and one daughter. Lester and Lillian Morton, at home, and one grandchild; one sister. Mrs.

Henry Hughson of Gladstone, snd five brothers. Frank and Eugene Rivers, of Gladstone; Henry Rivers. Escanaba; George Rivers, Kipling, and Charles Rivers. LaBranche. Mr.

Morton died 14 years ago. Thb body was taken to the Alio Funeral Home where It will rest in state beginning this evening. Services will be held at St. Patrick's church Saturday morning at nine the Very Rev. Fr.

AGED ESCANABA WOODSMAN DIES Peter Christian Nelson Lived In Community For 55 Years Teter Christian Nelson. 77, resident of Escsnnha and vicinity for 56 years, died In a local hospital last night of a complication of allmenu.

He was born In 1861 In Gottsnberg, Sweden, and worked In lumber ramps for many years, 12 yearn with Tobin and Benson, For the past three years he had been living at Danforth. The survivors Include a brother and sister In Sweden snd the following nephews and nieces: Robert Nelson, Chicago; Edwin, Austin, Frsnk. Alaska; Walter, Danforth; and Ernest Anderson; Mrs. Dora Lindahl. Berwyn.

Mrs. Ann Marcusson and Esther Nyqulst, Chicago. The body was taken to the Anderson funeral home, and arrangements for the final rites will be completed todsy.
