CAPT. Securities Siren Off Car No red light and siren will adorn the city automobile to be driven occasionally by the new mayor, Walter C. Boetcher. The car, bought by John W. Kern a few days before he re signed, was equipped with the "po lice" apparatus.

Mayor Boetcher said today he be lieved the mayor of the city should ride about the streets the same as any other citizen and be subject to the same rules and regulations. "Anyway," he said, "I have my own car and probably will drive that except when a state occasion demands a larger, more elaborate automobile." Speeding Sedan Lands in Gulley Murray Price, Ft. Wayne, was driving his expensive sedan north in Road ,37 sixty miles an hour Wednesday night. He failed to see signs warning that a bridge was out, and his car plunged from the end of the pavement and turned end-over-end in a gulley. Price crawled out unnurc.

His car was damaged about $20. It's This Way, of Alibis Fail The charge was speeding forty- eight miles an hour. "I was in a hurry," saia wuiiam Mason, age thirty-four, 2258 Holt road, in municipal court today. "I had just received a telephone call to come home at once, that my wife was having a baby." "Has the baby arrivsd yet?" asked Judge Charles J. Karabell.

"No." "One dollar and costs." Herbert Eikenberry 1818 East Eleventh street, just back from France, was charged with failure to stop at a preferential street. "Over there," he said, "when the first car in a line of traffic starts up the others follow. Each car is not required to stop at a preferential street." "Fifty million Frenchmen must be wrong," said the judge. "A dollar and costs." William Key, 628 East Vermont street, was doing some personal checking on the speed of street cars when he was caught ior speeding in East Michigan strset. Or at least that's what he told the judge.

"I was driving my. coal truck alongside the street car, seeing how fast it was going," he said. The judge fined him $1 and and costs after police said Key was going forty-two miles an hour. Nothing was said about the speed of the street car. Oh, yes.
