Sutton who had stopped off there for a short stay. On their return home they stopped off at Marshalltown for a islt with Mrs. Bert Helgeson, sister of Mrs. Sutton, and also visited with Mrs. Tom Tomlinson and family at Fort Dodge Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Frank Grant and children were week end visitors with friends in Estherville. Miss Mary Alice Carey is at the Trimble home in Estherville caring for Mrs. Maggie Trimble and daughter, Birdie, who trouble. is 111 with heart Charles Carey went to Spencer last week near which place he will be employed on a farm the coming season.

Genevleve Mackey was a high school visitor Friday. Miss Esther Hlldreth, a pupil in the Emmet Consolidated school, wns a week end visitor in the parental home. There was a good attendance at the social evening of the Royal Neighbors at the home of Mrs. Claude Ressler. The May meeting will be held in the home oj Mrs.

Harry Webber. Mrs. Gus Knutson was hostess to the members of the Lakeside Country Club at her home last Thursday afternoon. Most of the members and a number of guests were present to enjoy a pleasant afternoon. The next meeting will be held with Mrs.

K'nute Olson. Mrs. O. L. Wickens attended visited the Misses Ivadell Leo and Vera Irwin on Thursday and Friday.

Klingibeil of north of Gruver, was hurt iby a steer which he was assisting in Iqading in a truck last Tuesday, being thrown against the truck badly ibruising him and injuring him internally. He was taken to the hospital for treat- 1 ment and was improving nicely until Monday when he had a turn for the worse a blood clot having formed. A. M. The wedding took -place at Sioux Falls, S. Dak. The bride's parents were former residents of this place. A large number of people gathered at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church last Sunday Ifor confirmation services.

Barber, Mrs. Higinbotham and Dean visited school last Wednesday afternoon. Seven of- the primary children were neither absent nor tardy during the past six weeks period. That is doing well considering the weather. Each Friday afternoon the children in the primary room gave a short program.

Last Friday afternoon the first and second grades told stories and acted out two short plays. Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Grant, Mrs. Ressler and Mrs.

Whitacre -were visitors. The first grade children are working on special Easter favors for this week. We are proud of the record made our high school spelling team this year. They placed our school in second place in the county and Lillian Hamleland won third place for Individual honors. We wish to call attention of all the patrons of our school to a county meeting of the Parent-Teachers Association which, will be held in the Roosevelt Auditorium at Estherville on the evening oif April 2Cth at 7:30 o'clock.

A special invitation is.given to any who can attend. This invitation comes from the Estherville Parent-Teachers Association. We will have our first baseball game of the season with Maple Hill on Friday afternoon of this week. If our diamond is in shape we will play it at Gruver, otherwise we will play it on the Maple Hill diamond. The Agriculture class pruned Mrs.
