The girls won the first round when Circuit Judge Mark Andrews issued an injunction against the school board restraining them from enforcing dress code.

Round two went to the school board when Judge Andrews denied a temporary restraining order against enforcement of the dress code Wednesday. He preceded her in death in 1939. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Spaniola of Sturgis and Mrs. Pauline McCombs of Reading; three nephews, Robert Rogge of Mendon, Howard Tichey of Camden and Leonard Ritchey of Reading. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

A wake service will be held tonight at 8 p.m. at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon with the Rev. Stanley Sulka officiating. The graveside service will be held at the Camden Cemetery Friday at 10 a.m. Frank Berry Dies At 85 HUDSON Frank E.

Berry, 85, a resident of the Shady Lawn Trailer Court in Hudson, died today at the Sinai Hospital in Detroit. He was a longtime resident of the Hudson area. Secretaries poocj Licensing Hanover Elect Officers The Branch, Hillsdale and St. Joseph Association of I-egal Secretaries met in Coldwater for the purpose of installing the new officers elected for the ensuing year.

The Honorable Mark S. Andrews, circuit judge for Branch County, officiated at the installation. The following officers were installed: president, Mrs. Sharon Ziegler; vice president, Mrs. Margaret Tittle; record secretary, Mary Bok; treasurer, Mrs.

Sharon Lounds; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Martha Lackey; governor, Billie Senker and NALS representative, Mrs. Ruth McBride. The outgoing president, Mrs. Alice Hughes, presented each of her officers with a vase of flowers.

The state convention for legal secretaries is being held this week at Saginaw and Mrs. Mary Granger and Mrs. Florence Satchfield are the delegates who will be attending. The next meeting will be held in Coldwater May 19. Harley Rush Dies At 70 HUDSON Harley D.

Rush, 70, a farmer, of 1164 Beecher Road, rte. 3, Hudson, died Wednesday at the Addison Community Hospital. He was a patient there 10 days. Bom in Pittsford Township Sept. 17, 1900, he was a lifetime resident of Hillsdale County.

He was a member of the Wheatland Township Grange, the Locust Comers Baptist Church and the Hillsdale County Farm Bureau. He married Beth Hoffman March 17, 1921. She survives. The Rev. Robert Keating will officiate at the funeral service to be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

at the Brown Funeral Home residence. The interment will be in the Locust Comers Cemetery and there will be visitations Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home residence. Mae Hermance Dies At 80 QUINCY Mae E. Hermance, 80, of 80 Taylor Quincy, died this morning at the Maple Hospital in Coldwater where she had been a patient for a short time. She was bom in Manistee on Nov. 22,1890, to Floyd and Emma Daniels She married William Hermance in Coldwater on Aug. 21, 1921.

He died in April of 1963. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Garence (Eva) Holmes of Quincy; a son, Wayne of Quincy; six grandchildren and 10 grandchildren. A daughter, son and three sisters preceded her in death. The funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.

at the Diedrich Funeral Home in Quincy. Burial will be in the Quincy Lake view Cemetery. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28 Members of the Broad Street Players group will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Congress Building at the fairgrounds. Heading the program is Frank M. Thompson who has many years of food service experience and is retired from the United States Navy after 27 years in the hospital corps. He did environmental sanitation while in the Navy, both in this country and in the Philippines and Taiwan and he has also been a hospital food service supervisor.

Prior to joining the Branch- Hillsdale-St. Joseph Health Department staff, he was employed by the Highland Park Health Department licensing food establishments. Thompson resides at 18 Beecher Road, Osseo with his wife Denne and two children, Marc and Angelique. The health department is required by Michigan Act 269 to license all food establishments and vending machines. In Branch and Hillsdale Counties there are 274 licensed establishments, eight vending machine companies with 82 licensed vending machines.

The purpose of the program is to minimize the potential spread of disease from public eating and drinking establishments and vending machines. Routine inspections of each food service establishment are required at least every six months with follow-up spections as necessary to obtain compliance within the state law. All the establishments have to be licensed annually. This includes limited food service operations such as private clubs, churches, societies, lodges or any other individual or group who serve food to the public as well as restaurants and taverns. Temporary licenses are required for any establishment that operates for not more than two weeks such as circus or a carnival.

The local health department food sanitation program is evaluated annually by the Michigan Department of Health for compliance with the state regulation. Farmer Dies HANOVER Erwin Burt Mann, 81, a self-employed farmer, died Wednesday at the Albion Community Hospital. A one-year resident of Parma, he had lived in Hanover for 13 years and had owned a farm in Hanover Township for 30 years. He was bom in Michigan Sept. 25, 1889 to Burt and Vincent Mann.

A member of the Jackson County Farm Bureau, he was also a member of the Jackson Senior Citizens, a chairman of the soil conservation district for several years, a former township clerk and a member of the Jackson Citizen Patriot Golden Wedding Club. He married Bemice Leggett Nov. 10,1909. She survives, along with one daughter, Mrs. Chauncey (Arlene) Conklin of Parma; one son, Harold of Jackson; one sister, Mrs.

Helen DuBois of Jackson; one brother, Lorenzo of Rives Junction; five grandchildren and three grandchildren. The funeral service will be held vSaturday at 11 a.m. at the Greiner Chapel of the Ned M. Towns Funeral Home in Hanover. The Rev.

Lambert McClintic will officiate and interment is to be in the Hanover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Teachers Plan Annual Dinner The annual Hillsdale County Education Association dinner meeting will be held Monday evening, April 26, at 6:30 p.m at the Camden-Frontier High School. The association will honor local citizens from local school districts for outstanding service and assistance; present 25-year awards to county teachers; and present certificates to those who are retiring from the teaching profession. The program will feature a noted magician, Neil Foster, of the Abbott Magic Company in Colon.
