At Martell Martell Seven freight cars derailed one half mile south of here at 4:47 p.m. Sunday, rearing up about 100 yards of Rock Island Lines track. Rock Island officials said no one was injured in the derailment, the cause of which still was under investigation.

However, a defective wheel possibly was responsible, according to a spokesman at the Rock Island depot in Hallam.
