Post Office Qerks Meet Discuss Problems In Closed Session Lincoln Post Office clerks held a special closed meeting to discuss "continuing problems in the Lincoln postal system," Leonard Buresch, president of Local 112 of the United Federation of Postal Clerks said. Buresch said 57 members of the postal clerks' organization attended. He declined to say what problems jwere dis cussed, or what action was taken at the meeting.

Lincoln postal clerks and carriers last August held a grievance meeting with -officials of the Lincoln Post Office. Since that time, Postmaster 0. E. Jerner has resigned as postmaster, along with several other top-ranking administrative personnel. Many clerks have complained in the past when tours of duty were re-adjusted and their working hours were changed.

-Statistics on last fall's United Appeal showed 36,618 contributors giving a total of $678,695. TMs maintained Lincoln's national record of 35 consecutive successful campaigns. The report covers those organizations which paid more than $100 in taxes during the year.

Each of the organizations also paid an equal amount of tax either to Lincoln or Lancaster County depending upon whether the unit was located in the city or county. This would bring the total tax they paid to $11,832. Since the bingo tax represents V)7c of the total gross receipts, this means $118,320 was wagered on the game from January 1, 1961 to January 1 of this year.
