Or maybe you have tickets and are looking for something to do while you're in town? Here are some suggestions you might want to check out: Get a head start on the Memorial Day weekend tonight with the free outdoor Carburetion Day Concert, featuring rock band 38 Special, on Jackson Street next to Union Station. The fourth annual event is expected to start about 5 p.m. The Bob and Tom Almost All-Star Band, headed by WFBQ disc jockeys Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold and Mercury recording artist Copperhead also entertain. 38 Special is expected to hit the stage about 9 p.m. For a real hoot, step into Grindstone Charley's at 7863 U.S.

31 South Friday, for a Bobby Rahal look-alike contest. You can watch gins each day at 5:30. Gates open at 5 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Thomas the Tank Engine, the star of the popular PBS television series "Shining Time Station," pulls into Union Station Saturday and won't depart until Sunday afternoon. Thomas gives two free shows Saturday at 4 and 7 p.m. and three more Sunday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The models from the famous Miller Geniune Draft Pit Crew will warm things up at 5 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit the Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Downtown hotel guests might want to walk into John's Spirits, Decanters and Fine Wines at 25 N. Pennsylvania St. Friday for a free taste of Indiana wines.

The party starts at 4 p.m. and is over a 7. John's carries the largest selection of Indiana wines in the city, maybe the state. The store carries about 22 wines from five local wineries. Wayne Morris, wine consultant at John's, says these tastings have been successful with crowds from outside the state because "tourists are looking for something unique to carry home with them for gifts or just to show their friends a new find." Take your picnic baskets and lawn chairs to Conner Prairie, north of Indianapolis near Fishers, for its annual May Balloon Classic, Friday through Sunday.

Gates open Friday at 6:30 p.m. for musical entertainment by the Great Divide, a balloon glow at dusk and fireworks. Visitors will see everything from the tradition hot-air balloons to commercially owned balloons shaped like a tennis shoe, polar bear and a battery. Thirty-three hot-air balloons rise sometime between 6 and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Shady Grove Band entertains Saturday and Natural Bridge plays Sunday.
