8 PATBICIDE. A Toy'i Terrible Introdnctlon to Crime. nu Mother. He Shoot His Father Head Full of Bullets. A Uldnight CarriiTal Over the Dy.

ing man. At Tint Reported a Suleide, the Crime ii at AMI vouiessea. Yesterday the papers announced that a man warned Joseph an honest and respected nirioiit a mil ana a Blul irom iw WVWl in. a littla hamlet In -Dearborn County, In olmna. had commuted auiclde.

The announcemen was accompanied with no' particulars save that the gaiddebad occurred some time on Tuesday Dight aw Wednesday last Lawrenceviiie is au taaecearible place, located In the northern part of Dearborn County, nearly or quite twenty miles from Lawrenceburg, a fact which will account for tbe tardiness with which the following; startling de tail! ara made known to the public: Wednesday morning Jake Mat a day laborer wbo had been engaged by Kunzler to assist him In husking corn, went over to Kunzler's house to Inform him that he could not work for him that Oar. The house is one story, built of logs, and is eet a long way back from a lonely and dreary road, Tex which few travelers ever pass. As Matt ap-' aroaehed the bouse be discovered Kunzler lying almost across his path, in a large pool nf blood, and evidently dying. An un loaded gun was lying by bis side. On bending over him he discovered several bullet-boles In the back of Kunzler's bead, and also dis covered that the wounded man was In terrible tor true.

Ee spoke to biro, but received only a groan In reply. Mrs. Kunzlerstood only a few yards distant at a wood-pile coolly breaking up some kindling. Mat was horror-stricken, and stammered out some cart of inquiry in regard to the scenes which met his pie. and was informed In an led ifTc rent tone Vj the dying man's wie that Kunzler bad killed kimaelf.

MaU'f suspicions were aroused, and, without further delav, he set off after a doctor and an officer. 'Sou ire Cairns and Dr. Fermier were not ion afterward on the ground, but when they arrived Kunsler was a corpse. Coroner Davis, of Aurora, was summoned, and, with his usual promptness and skill, began a scrutinizing Investigation. lie had scarcely reached the spot and taken in the situation when his mind was Bade up that there bad been no suicide, but that, on the contrary, some foul play had been indulged la, and, from various suspicious movements on the part of Mrs, Kunzler and ber sou Joseph, a boy nly thirteen years of age, the Coroner felt himself Justified in directing that the two be kept separated and carefully watched.

Tne woman waa su omitted to a severe examination, lasting for several hours, but further than her flnt statements in regard to Kumler's death, otbing of any consequence could be obtained. As a reason for not seuding for help when she discovered ber husband in a dying condition, she simply said she "didn't want to." She feigned an absent-minded ties? and was evidently on the insanity dodge. In her boy's testimony, however, the Jscts were revealed in all their horror. He, like his mother, attempted to stave of ali questions, and, young as be is, gave some answers that were skillfully evasive. Then he trid the sphinx game, and then, breaking completely down, made a clean breast of it.

tie said his mother was to be blamed tor his father's death, although he himself had done the shooting. For nearly a year his mother had been constantly trying to persuade him to kill his father, and at last he had yielded. On the evening el the murder, bis father went over to Lawrence-Tille on some business, and in his absence the diabolical plot was formed. Deliberately, by his mother instructions, he loaded his father's gun, usiug "a heavy charge of bird and buckshot, and then, in accordance with the same Instructions, stationed himself behind the -wood-pile, near the house, to await the coming ot bis victim. The wile had carefully calculated every thing the length of time Kunzler would be gone, the distance between the boy's lurking-place and the path which the must tread, and, more than this, the part which she was to piay after the terrible crime bad been committed.

Soon after nine o'clock, so says the murderous little baby, he beard his father approach. He leaned ttie weapon across the wood- fiie for a rest and took aim. He covered is victim as soon as he entered the lot In which the house is located. His aim was steady and deadly. With the nerve of an iron veteran of forty campaigns, he held the sum until the victim was within a dozen feet of the wood-pile, and then, without a tremor, drew the trigger.

He lingered long ennueh to hear his father say, "Oh, my Uod!" and to see him suurger buck in the path he had come, and then, with his amokiug weapon, ran into the house. The mother was wutehi ig the ghastly scene from a window. She amw her husband aud the father of her hve children fall and heard her boy Joseph enter. Snatching the gun from his hand she rau out of the house, aud by the side of the fallen man, weltering in his biood, laid down tbe gun. Then hurrying into the bouse and dosing the door to shutout the poor nan's groans, went with Joseph to bed.

Hut they could not sleep. The moans of tbe dying filled the air. They arose and ali night long talked of the crime. 1 hey even prepared a supper and ate the anticipated funeral baked meats. No hand was offered to Knnzier.

Sympathy was desd in tne breast of Joseph, his oldest boy, and in that of tne mother of his children. Ja his helpless agony be was left in the darkness and cold. At ten o'clock the next morning, after thirteen hours of su fieri tig, death crowned the work of Use baby murderer. The verdict of the Coroner's Jury was murder, and so yenlorday, under the guaid of Constable William Ovlkcr and Deputy Jacob GubolJ. Mrs.

Kunzler and Joseph were brought to Lawrence-burg and lodged in jail. Aud now a. to the motives: On the 9th of last month, with Judge John Schwartz as attorney. Mrs. Kunzler caused the preliminary steps to betaken for a divorce from Mr.

Kunzler. Tbe papers were filed in the Court-house at Lawreuce-burg, and in them the deceased was charged with cruelty and drunkenness. Five hundred dollars were astted as alimony, and to prevent the defendant from selling his property and thus escaping the payment of the alimony, the plain tilT had a writ of injunction served. In the faceol this, however, and while her suit was still pending, she continued living with her husband, and continued to evince for him her uudyins love, and at the same time was engogad in plotting his murder. Mrs.

Kunzler is not a preprKseing-looking woman, having coarse, irregular and dirty features, and hair of a sort of briudie color. 6he is a little below the medium height. She is now ewrtnte, and may again be a mother before ker trial lor murder is completed. Her reputation bad. having been rather loose in her murals prior to her marriage v.

iih Kunzler. The sympathy of the whole community is against her. The "sy Joseph is rather stoutly buiat. and looks as innocent as a cow. He does not freeiy about the matter.

hen approached yesterday by a reporter a confession of guilt was wormed out uf him, and he repeated the statements made before the Coroner's jury, that bis mother was all to biame. 1'oor Kunzler was about forty-five vears of ase, and, if his neighbors can be believed, was not a drunkard as chanted in the wife's divorco petition. Nobody ever heard of his abuse of his faintly other, until the divorce complaint was hied. The niforro good name which all who knew him Kive him heightens the hideousness of tbe crime. Even the boy Joseph confesses tht his father was kind to him, and made this confession yesterday in the bearing of a reporter.

Kunzler has two 'brothers now living in Cincinnati upon whom this terrible Wow will fall with all the crushing weight ol a nightmare. Poor Kunzler is divorced. From the nncertiin-lica of a Circuit Court his boy has sent him to a zugher tribunal. Mrs. Kunzler is free from the man she evidently hated, cue has found her freedom in a County Jail.
