1 academically in their senior classes: Arlington Andrea Price Andrea Price, valedictorian at Arlington High School, plans to study engineering at the University of Notre Dame. She was president of the National Honor Society this year and second vice president of the senior class. Active in concert band, concert choir, concert orchestra and marching band, Miss Price won a national achievement scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corp. Named a Hoosier Scholar, she is corresponding secretary of People United to Save Humanity (PUSH-Excel.) Attucks Karen Worland Karen Worland, valedictorian at Attucks High School, plans to attend Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, where she will study to become an elementary or secondary teacher. President of the senior class, she was coeditor of the yearbook and secretary of the student council.

She also has been active in Spanish Club, National Honor Society, choir and dramatics. Miss Worland was honored by the Society of Distinguished American High School Stu-, dents and for four years has been a recipient of the Attucks Outstanding Student Scholarship. Baptist Brent Smith Indianapolis Baptist High School valedictorian Brent Eugene Smith plans to study computer science at Purdue University. He has won several awards in algebra and other academic areas, including business math, world history, biology and English. Baptist Academy Deanna Henley The valedictorian at Baptist Academy is Deanna Sue Henley, presi Howe Lynette Enz Lynette Enz, valedictorian at Howe High School, plans to study French at Carleton College.

A cheerleader in ninth grade and assistant editor of the student newspaper, Miss Enz was a member of choir, orchestra, string ensemble, National Honor Society and French Club. She performed in school musicals and won the Phi Beta Kappa Award from Alpha Association. Lawrence Central William Weingartner William Richard Weingartner, valedictorian at Lawrence Central High School, will study economics at North Carolina State University. Captain of the basketball and baseball teams, he also participated in tennis and football. Weingartner was a member of the student advisory council, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Winner of the Americanism Award from Fort Harrison, he also was voted most valuable player on the baseball team. He was a delegate to Hoosier Boys State and won the Economics Award sponsored by the Sertoma Club. Lawrence North Jennifer Bratt Lawrence North High School valedictorian Jennifer Bratt intends to study engineering at Purdue University. Active in the wind ensemble, orchestra and other musical groups, she also was a volunteer at Methodist Hospital and a member of Tri-Hi-Y. Miss Bratt participated in the Indianapolis Youth Congress and the Stein-way Music Festival and was named a Hoosier Scholar.

Lutheran Chris Deeter Chris Deeter is the valedictorian at Lutheran High School. He plans to study education at Concordia College in Seward, Neb. Deeter was yearbook treasurer, German Club president and National Honor Society secretary. He also earned letters in soccer and was statistician for the basketball team. if A i VJ.I 'A.

Green, co-editor of the school newspaper. Miss Green will attend Purdue University, where she intends to study engineering. A member of National Honor Society, she has been a volunteer for several charitable, community and civic organizations, including the Mental Health Association, the Pregnancy Problem Center and the Mother and Unborn Baby Care Center. Tracey Montgomery Tracey Montgomery, another of BrebeuFs senior scholars, also plans to attend Purdue University, where she will study preveterinary medicine. She was secretary and treasurer of the swing choir and a member of the National Forensic League, Drama Club and National Honor Society.

A Hoosier Scholar, she received a $4,000 scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corp. and a $500 Reader's Digest scholarship. Beth Robinson Also sharing the honors at Brebeuf is Beth Robinson, president of the student council. Miss Robinson was a member of the girls' varsity basketball and tennis teams, as well as French Club and orchestra. She participated in the school's musical and received a National Merit scholarship.

She has won honors in mathematics contests and the Optimist Club's oratorical contest. She plans to attend Dartmouth College. Broad Ripple Elizabeth Grimes Elizabeth Grimes, valedictorian at Broad Ripple High School, plans to study business at Indiana University. She was president of Orange Aid, a school service club, and editor of the newspaper. In addition, she was secretary of the senior class, a Hoosier Scholar and a member of the golf team and yearbook staff.

-Miss Grimes participated in Masque Mime and was a member of Thespians. Cathedral Elizabeth Happel Elizabeth Happel, Cathedral High School's top senior, will study geology at Ohio State University or the University of Notre Dame. She also was a member of jazz band, pep band, marching band, National Honor Society, Math Club and sophomore council. Park Tudor Adam Bangs Three seniors share honors as top scholars at Park Tudor School.

Adam Bangs, co-editor of the yearbook, plans to attend Harvard University to study physical science. A member of the hockey team and adviser and judge in the science fair, he has won awards in chemistry and geometry. Bangs also is the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship and has been cocaptain of the "TEAMS" high school competition in science and engineering. 1 Robert Black Editor of the newspaper as well as a top scholar at Park Tudor, Robert Allen Black intends to study engineering at Vanderbilt University. He was president of the Science Club and captain of Park Tudor's "Brain Game" team.

A National Merit Scholarship winner, he won awards in math and chemistry competitioris, including the American Chemical Society Contest and the Marion County Math Contest. Black was statistician for the varsity football team and manager of the varsity track team. Mary Stimming Mary Stimming, also a top senior at Park Tudor, plans to study history and diplomacy at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. Co-editor of the yearbook, she was vice president of the senior class and president of Link Club, a community service. Miss Stimming also was treasurer of the Barnstormers Dramatics Club and has won awards in Thespians contests.

Last year she won an award for outstanding accomplishment from the Park Tudor Mothers Association. Perry Perry Meridian High School valedictorian Richard Clements plans to study prelaw at Indiana University. President of the Indiana Association of Stu- A Deborah Swinehart Deborah Ann Swinehart, valedictorian at Manual High School, plans to study economics at the University of Notre Dame. President of National Honor Society and Ma-soma Club, she was captain of Manual's "Brain Game" team and editor-in-chief of the yearbook. Miss Swinehart was vice president of Key Club and a member of Quill and Scroll and Thespians.

She won first place in the Voice of Democracy contest and won the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Award. Marshall Mary Jones An art student who intends to study fine arts at Herron School of Art, Mary Jones is valedictorian at Marshall High School. The winner of a full-tuition scholarship to Herron, she was secretary of the Art Club and has won several awards for her art work. Those have included honors in the Indianapolis "500" Festival of the Arts, National Scholastic Art Awards and Federation of Clubs Art Awards. She also was an assistant to biology and English teachers.

North Central Two seniors at North Central High School are sharing valedictorian honors. Karen Li plans to study biochemistry at Harvard University. She was president of French Club two years and a member of French Honor Society and National Honor Society. The winner of a National Council of Teachers of English Award for her writing ability, she also received commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corp. Thomas Tarvin Sharing valedictorian honors at North Central is Thomas Adam Tarvin.

A Hoosier Scholar, he plans to study liberal arts at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn. Last year he served as a graduation marshal at North Central. Northwest Northwest High School valedictorian Ava Ann Dorn will study premedi-cine at Oral Roberts University. A delegate to Hoosier Karen Li illiill Ellen Trick The third valedictorian at Ben Davis is Ellen Trick, who plans to study business at Indiana University. Miss Trick was vice president of her senior and junior classes and secretary of her sophomore class.

A member of student council, National Honor Society and French Club, she was a delegate to Hoosier Girls State. She also was a member of the girls cross country track team and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Brebeuf Joanne Cunningham Six students at Brebeuf Preparatory School tied as No. 1 seniors academically. Joanne Cunningham plans to study premedi-cine, but she is undecided about what university she will attend.

Editor of the Brebeuf newspaper, she was a member of the student council and National Honor Society. She also participated in several school sports, including volleyball, cross country and soft-ball. She received a scholarship from the Reader's Digest Foundation. Audrey Mishler Audrey Mishler, also a top-rated senior at Brebeuf, plans to study computer science at Purdue University. She was a member of student council, French Club and band and was treasurer of her freshman class.

Spencer Carlson Spencer Carlson, another of Brebeuf's top seniors, plans to study chemical engineering at Stanford University. A varsity basketball player, Carlson also was a member of the reserve track team and a student council representative. He was a staff writer for the school newspaper, treasurer of German Club and a member of National Honor Society. He has been named a National Merit scholar. Linda Green Also a top-ranked senior at Brebeut is Linda 5 V- pi Richard Clements dents of German and the Perry Meridian German Club, he was the winner of a four-week paid study trip to Germany.

Clements also was a National Merit Scholarship finalist and was on the school's "Brain Game" team. He participated in intramural basketball and was a member of -the track team. Clements also received citizenship awards. Maureen Lynn Hill An athlete as well as a scholar, Pike High School's top senior plans to study chemistry at DePauw University. Maureen Lynn Hill was president of Mu Alpha Theta and captain of the "Brain Game" team, the basketball team and the volleyball squad.

She also participated in soft-ball, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and student council. She has been named an honor scholar by DePauw and won the D.J. Cook Scholarship. Ritter Paul Floreancig Paul Floreancig, Ritter High School valedictorian, was captain of the cross country team arid president of his junior class. The winner of an outstanding student award from the Indianapolis Rotary Club, he intends to study biology at Indr-ana University.

Floreancig won several scholastic awards at Ritter and was a member of the track team four years. Roncall Daniel Corsaro i President of the senior class and captain of both the football and track teams, Daniel Corsaro plans to study business; administration at the University of Notre Dame. Corsaro, valedictorian, at Roncalli High also participated in wrestling and Latin Club. He was named to the1 academic all-state foot ball team and won the Marion County Scholas-' tic Achievement Continued on Page Pike Catherine OXoughlin Catherine O'Loughlin is valedictorian at Chatard High School. She plans to study engineering at Purdue University.

A member of Spanish Club, Computer Club and National Honor Society, she won several state awards for her performances on the piano. Decatur Central Mindy Vondersaar Mindy Vondersaar, valedictorian at Decatur Central High School, is undecided on her post-graduation plans. She was president of National Honor Society and Art Club, as well as vice president of Science Club. Sports editor of the yearbook, she also participated in Latin Club and Goldenaires (swing choir). Franklin Central Rebecca McKinney Valedictorian at Franklin Central High School is Rebecca McKinney, who will study music at Butler University.

She was a member of her high school's "Brain Game" team, as well as National Honor Society, band, dance band and Franklin Central Singers. Voted the most valuable player on the tennis team last year, she also was a staff member at WRFT Radio. Heritage Christian Julie Ann Thompson Julie Ann Thompson, No. 1 senior at Heritage Christian School, plans to study music education at Cedarville College. Miss Thompson was secretary of her class four years and received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.

Copy editor for the yearbook and a member of French Club, she was an accompanist and secretary for school choirs. She also won awards for syjo music performances. illillllMlll Jaye Lynne Towe Beech Grove High School valedictorian Jaye Lynne Towe will study aeronautical engineering at the Air Force Academy. President of her school's National Honor Society chapter, Miss Towe was a cheerleader and a member of Beech Grove's swimming team. She was vice president of her sophomore and junior classes and a member of French Club, Foreign Students Club and Thespians.

She was a delegate to Hoosier Girls State and received awards sponsored by the Beech Grove Lions Club. Ben Davis Tim Krauss Three seniors share valedictorian honors at Ben Davis High School. Tim Krauss will study business administration (accounting) at Indiana University. He was president of National Honor Society and the Little United Nations Assembly, as well as vice president of French Club. A delegate to Hoosier Boys State, Krauss was a National Merit semifina-list.

He was honored by the U.S. Achievement Academy for outstanding achievement in advanced mathematics. Jon Praed Sharing valedictorian honors at Ben Davis is Jon Praed, president of the senior class. He plans to study prelaw at Brown University, Northwestern University or Wabash College. Praed was vice president of the National Forensic League, president of Latin Club and captain of the Ben Davis "Brain Game" team.

Editor of the Fulton Flyer newspaper and a delegate to Hoosier Boys State, Praed earned varsity letters in gymnastics and track. A member of National Honor Society, he worked as a volunteer in the Marion County prosecutor's office. A National Merit finalist and $1,000 scholarship winner, he won numerous speech awards, including the championship of the Liberty Bell Tournament in Philadelphia. He also won the Indiana District contest in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate, which qualifies him to participate in the national competition in San Francisco next month..
