1981 i 6ert Hoover Dead At 83 LEBANON. Ind. Bert Hoover, 83. died yesterday in Witham Hospital. He worked at Pitman-Moore, now Dow Chemical, then forked for Fishel and Roark construction firms.

He retired in 1963 from the latter company. During World War II. when four of his seven tons joined the Navy, he also enlisted. He was a member of Zionsville United Methodist Church. Services will be Thursday at 11 a m.

B. Eugene. Robert; daughter Mildred Roark. Ernest Einhiple Ernest Einhiple. 85, 219 Hancock, died today in Methodist Hospital.

He was a sprinkler system installer for Grinnell Co. 45 years, retiring in 1966. The last four years at the company. Einhiple was state superintendent of construction. He was a 58-year member of Automatic Sprinklers Union 669 and also was a member of North Park Masonic Lodge and West Washington Street United Methodist Church.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Royster-Askin-Sandrock Mortuary, where friends may call tomorrow. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetey. Survivors wife Pearl; brother John. Raymond Webb Services for Raymond Webb, 65, Indianapolis, a retired cabinetmaker, will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

in Flanner Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary. Webb, a World War II Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient, died Sunday in Veterans Hospital. He had worked for Borman Cabinet Co. Friends may call tomorrow from 5 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Survivors wife Helen; son Raymond; daughter Kaleen Maxey; brother Omer; sisters Caroline Wright, Lillian Allen. Mrs. Lucy Carter Services for Mrs. Lucy Niehoff Carter, 82, formerly of Indianapolis, will be at 7:30 tonight in Salem Lutheran Church, Stillwater, Okla. Mrs.

Carter died Saturday in Stillwater Medical Center. She had been an office worker at Scottish Rite Cathedral. Survivor daughter Helen Miller. also had been involved in Democratic party politics. She was a former vice president of the Perry Township Women's Democratic Club and had been a vice committeewoman in the 26th Ward.

She was a candidate in the 1936 Democratic primary for state senator representing Marion and Johnson counties. She had been a member of Evangelical United Brethren Church, the women's council of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Business and Professional Women's Club. Marion County Women's Democratic Club. Altrusa International and the American Guernsey Breeders Association. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m.

in G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, where friends may call tomorrow after 2:30 p.m. and Thursday until services. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.

Survivors sons Eldon. Ellis, Rex; daughter Velora Gardham; sister Elsa Kunkel Mackey. Wis. He was graduated from the University of Texas. Phi Beta Kappa, in 1940 and spent an additional year at the university earning a master's degree English literature.

He taught at Austin High School and the University of Texas, turning to drama at the Austin Little Theater group. Ludden served in the Army from 1942-45. rising to the rank of captain, and was awarded a Bronze Star. During his term of service he produced and directed some 40 Army shows. After World War II, Ludden worked in radio and summer stock in New England and conducted a radio show titled "Mind Your Manners" for WTIC in Hartford.

Conn. It won a Peabody and two Ohio State Awards for excellence. Ludden moved to New York Gty in 1953 as moderator of NBC radio's forerunner of "G-E College Bowl." In January 1959 Ludden and the TV version of the "College Bowl" show moved to CBS. Ludden was the first member of the performing arts to receive the Horatio Alger Award (1961) symbolizing outstanding achievement in the free enterprise system and the American tradition of equal opportunity. Mrs.

Van Sickle Dies At Lebanon Mrs. Harold (Rosa Alta Rucker) Van Sickle, 80, Indianapolis, died yesterday in Witham Hospital, Lebanon. Mrs. Van Sickle taught elementary school 10 years before her marriage, including Jackson County and John Strange schools. She had attended the former Danville Normal College and Indiana University.

She was a former member of En-glewood Christian Church and was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She also was a member of Warren Park Homemakers and was a volunteer for American Red Cross. Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross. Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Old Bethel United Methodist Church.

Friends may call tomorrow after 3 p.m. at Shirley Brothers East Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors son Ramon; sister Mrs. Franklin Batton.

HOLLYWOOD (UPIl Allen Ludden, 63. best known to Americans as the host of "Password." a TV game show, died today in Good Samaritan Hospital of complications from a stroke he suffered last October. He also was a TV producer and author concerned with the problems confronting young people. His wife, actress Betty White, was at his bedside when he died at 1:30 a m. Among his books were "Plain Talk About College" (1962).

"Plain Talk For Women Under 21" (1956) and "Plain Talk For Men Under 21" (1954). A former schoolteacher before turning to show business, Ludden won an Emmy in 1976 for outstanding game show host for "Password." He produced such other shows as "The Liars Club," "Stumpers" and "Allen Ludden's Gallery." a 1969 talk show. He also made guest appearances on episodic TV, most recently with his wife (a cos tar in "The Mary Tyler Moore in a July 1980 segment of "The Love Boat" Ludden, a widower with three children, married Miss White in Las Vegas in 1963 following their appearance together in a New England summer stock production of "Critic's Choice." Ludden was born in Mineral Point, Hugh Rominger Military graveside services for Hugh Lee Rominger. 69. Fredericksburg.

formerly of Indianapolis, will be tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery. Rominger, who died Saturday in Mary Washington Hospital at Fredericksburg, served in the Air Force 24 years. He retired as a colonel. He was an Indianapolis native and lived here most of his life.

He died Sunday at his home. Trieb had worked in the commercial and industrial properties division of R. J. Moore Co. 28 years.

He was a member of Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors and was a former director of its commercial industrial division. He also was a member of Park Fletcher Kiwanis Club and the Indiana and national associations of Realtors. He was an Army veteran of World War II and during the war directed operations of an administrative unit with the Office of Strategic Services in England. France and Belgium. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

His devotion to Judaism brought him into conflict with Soviet authorities, who in 1965 confiscated his religious books and forbade him to continue holding religious services in his home. Floyd Smith Mrs. Floyd (Reba) Smith. Indianapolis, died yesterday in Meuwdist Hospital. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Meridian Hills Mrs. Flossie Beghtel.

94, Indianapolis, longtime Soulhstde fanner and former owner of Rosedale Guernsey Dairy, died yesterday in Hospital, Noblesville. Mrs. Beghtel operated a 300-acre farm many years and owned Rosedale dairy 20 years. She sold the firm and developed Rosedale Hilts, a Souths ide housing area. She was the oldest graduate of Indiana Central University at the time of her death and at one time taught at the university.

She was a member of the Class of 1911. and in 1907 she and 13 others attended classes at the school's one building, now known as Good Hall. The university awarded Mrs. Beghtel an honorary doctor of humanities degree in 1961. Mrs.

Beghtel. a member of University Heights United Methodist Church. 'Buck' Buchanan Dies In Hospital Elvis Eugene "Buck" Buchanan. 60. Whiteland, an employe of S.

Insurance Group more than 15 years, died yesterday in Johnson County Hospital. Franklin. Buchanan was a member of Community Congregational Church, the Indiana State Insurance Adjusters Association. Central Indiana Claims Association and Moose Lodge. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and was a licensed private pilot.

Nathan died yesterday in Indiana University Hospital. He and his wife Elinor, who survives, owned Peacock of Indianapolis, 612 Broad Ripple.

The couple retired in 1977 and moved to Florida and last December opened a Peacocks of Boca Raton. He was a member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck and B'nai B'rith Lodge 58. A daughter, Sandi Silver, also survives. Mrs. Otto Osterholtz Services for Mrs.
