Friday, Jung 1, 1979 THE INDIANAPOLIS NEWS Page 22 1 Brown County Fox Eagle Creek Art Festival Slated State Fair Books Country Stars 6 Oil paintings by Theodore Fox, Brown County artist, are featured in the solo room of the Brown County Art Gallery through Sunday. Fox, born in West Germany, studied art in Munich and Essen before immigrating to the United States, where he attended the University of Illinois and Chicago Art Institute. He works in several media including oil, watercolor and pen-and-ink. His works have been in many exhibits in Illinois and Indiana. The Brown County Art Gallery, at One Artists Drive in Nashville, is open daily from 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m. ing noon till 6 p.m. weekdays and may be ordered by mail by writing to: Tickets, Indiana State Fair State Fairgrounds Indianapolis, 46205. A self-addressed, stamped envelope should accompany the request. The shows are part of a 10-show, $500,000 musical extravaganza planned by Harris for the fair.

Additional shows will be announced as contracts are signed. Magic Show BUFFALO, N.Y. (UPI) The Blackstone Magic Show, starring Harry Blackstone. opens a nine-week 11-city tour in Buffalo June 11. Country music stars Kenny Rogers, Barbara Mandrell, the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers are scheduled to appear Aug.

16-26 at the Indiana State Fair. Kenny Harris, state fair entertainment director, announced that the performers had signed contracts to appear at the fair. Kenny Rogers and the Oak Ridge Boys will give one performance on the grandstand stage Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. The Oak Ridge Boys received an award in April as vocal group of the year at the Country Music Awards presentation, Nashville, Tenn.

Miss Mandrell and the Statler Brothers will perform Aug. 19 at 3 and 7:30 p.m. in the Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Statler Brothers have won the Country Music Awards group of the year honor on at least six occasions and have received more than 100 awards in their career. Tickets for the Kenny RogersOak Ridge Boys show are $6 and $8 and $4 and $5 for the Barbara MandrellStatler Brothers program.

Tickets are on sale at the fairgrounds administration build- Applications are being accepted for the Eagle Creek Art and Folk Music Festival to be July 28 and 29 at Eagle Creek Park. Entries must be postmarked no later than July 21. Artists and craftspersons interesting in entering the festival may obtain applications by calling Bill Taylor, program coordinator, at 924-9151, Ext. 200, or by writing Taylor at the Eagle Creek Art Center, 5901 DeLong Indianapolis 46254. The art fair part of the festival is juried.

Booth space, approximately 10 feet by 10 feet, is $15 for both days. Rain dates are Aug. 4 and 5. The festival is cosponsored by the Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation and the Central Indiana Folk Music and Mountain Dulcimer Society and is supported by grants from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Guy-Doll Northern Lights Northern Lights of Kansas City is entertaining in the Marker Lounge of the Sheraton West Hotel through June 11.
