The second half of the Nebraska basketball team's 76-60 victory over Oregon Monday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center was all a blur. "I don't even know what happened," Carr said as he sat in front of his locker after the game.

His vision was just beginning to return. All he knew was, he had a'large bump on the right side of his forehead and migraine headache. "I usually get one a year, so I might as well get it out of the way," said Carr, Nebraska's senior guard and co-captain. Carr remembered "having a good time.HThen he drew the blank. Fifty-three seconds into' the second half, on a drive to the basket, Carr lost his balance and fell to the floor, hitting his head and setting off the migraine.

He had to be helped to the bench. With 14:34 left in the game, Carr was helped to the lockerroom. With 3:21 remaining, he returned to the bench to watch his teammates wrap up Danny Nee's first Nebraska coaching victory. Carr wanted to go back in the game. But he was in no condition to do so.

"It's a lot of fun out there, now that we're really pushing the ball up-court and scoring points," Carr said. Comments The Spartans have a strong front line with returning starters Sam Somerholder, Scott Halsch and transfer Jed Bargen. Quick guards and backups for both the inside and outside give East a strong combination. Rich King is a big key for defending champion Omaha Burke, but replacing Super-Stater Dan Olson Is a big challenge.

Prep has excellent shooters but not much 'size. Omaha Northwest must find a solid front line but depth is key. Last year, two-time Super-State defensive back Karl Hroza accepted a football scholarship. "I've been going to Nebraska'games ever since I was a little kid and this is something I think everyone of us who play football in Nebraska dream about," Engelbert said. "Nebraska has the best program in the country, as far as I can tell, and I was ready to accept as soon as the scholarship was offered," he said.
