Marion County sheriff's deputies say Tamara Jean McPherson Skahill, 18, Plainfield, and Kathleen Ann Grooms, 30, Los Angeles, will be questioned in connection with a string of bad checks written in December. SZ Investigators said participants In" the bogus check scheme opened checking accounts of 1300 to $400 in several Indianapolis banks under the name In- terior Design. Detectives said the vehicle theft 'charges are based on that :4 new cars were rented from car rental agencies and never returned.

On the check writing sheriff's department spokesman Lt. Bob Warren said, "We don't know how many checks are still outstanding." Investigators believe checks totaling up to $50,000 were written. Deputies said the phony business was not connected in any way with Interior Design 1310 W. Troy. Tidy Bag Hang a paper bag beside your sew- 1 ing-machine and toss in scraps and threads as you work.
