1 1 lincoln Journal Thursday, April 20, 1978 1 3 A fair day for fun There will also be shows by performing groups ranging from jazz bands to belly dancers to theater troupes to poets. If that's not enough, there will be snack booths, a chance to get your face painted like a clown and with luck blues skies and sunshine. More than 170 artists and craftsworkers will exhibit their wares Saturday and Sunday during the annual Community Arts Fair on Centennial Mall, starting at 10 a.m. each day. The fair will be set up on the mall from 0 Street to the Capitol.

Most of the exhibitors are from Nebraska, but others will come from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Colorado, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Arkansas and Wisconsin. A sampling of the displays (the works are for sale) includes paintings, fur handbags, weavings, furniture, pottery, stained glass, jewelry, scrimshaw, metal sculpture, glassblowing, wind chimes, hex signs and two exhibits described as "flying and "Swedish night lanterns."
